Generally speaking, it shouldn't happen. There are roles specifically for detecting things that go on at night.

Sorry, it probably wasn't very clear but that was part of my Scum!Joe hypothesising, so I was assuming that what you told us about your PM was a fabrication and an attempt to capitalise on the D3 flavour.

At the time, yes. I thought ele was your third. But Joe's claim and people's responses to it have thrown all that up in the air. I had been townreading Joe, but the nature of his claim and the way it was claimed have made me doubt that.
I'm conflicted because I still don't town-read you and you're really pushing for Joe's lynch. BUT I don't exactly have Joe as super-town at this point. I would consider lynching Joe at this point.

Doesn't even need to be stupid, just a rushed mistake when you realized you were basically at L-1.

You've claimed the only kill, you're trying to use flavor as evidence, and you've already changed your story a few times now.

I was deliberately blunt about asking SirP who he blocked, I was overly pushy with bler about his speculation of the night target, I made it clear I was suspicious of Trent without explicitly saying why: I was building up to the claim long before I'd been voted for!

And THEN I bothered to go and check and realised how stupid I'd been.

It certainly didn't strike me as deliberately conspicuous at the time, just getting to the point. I assumed it was because you expected me to have blocked flub again to be honest.
It's pretty thin as an "I know something you don't know" softclaim.

I went back to think a bit. Someone, in fact several someones, expressed surprise at flubb being chosen as the NK target. Perhaps he was chosen because he was somewhat scummy so that it could be spun as a Vig kill if the need arises? Are you perhaps trying too hard to interpret the flavour of the NK in your favour?

Let's have a look at the fact that we had only one NK. That can mean several things:

Either what you say is true and a town Vig and scum chose the same target. Where the Vig had 9 targets to chose from and scum probably 7. That doesn't seem very likely.

Or town Vig shoots flubb and the scum NK is blocked. That would mean if Joe is town, trent has to be scum.

Or town Vig shoots flubb and scum graciously decide not to kill anyone. ... That's even more unlikely than case 1.

So, if I pick the most likely second case I have to decide who out of Joe and trent is scummier. ... And there the answer becomes easy: Joe. Or both, which is also possible. But overall trent seems like the townier of the two.

In conclusion, after re-thinking everything I think it is best to put my vote back where it was:

vote JoeSapphire

it's OK, Books. You can stop crying now!

Or if the majority thinks that Joe should be left alive in spite of killing flubb, let's at least:

I just don't want an admitted killer running around free. If he was a one-shot Vig, he is basically vanilla now. But if he is scum who did the NK, we might at least take him out of the night-chat pool from scum and hunt for the rest of his team.

Ah, I see.

What I don't agree with, however, is you revealing that you have a PR. That was unnecessary. I am currently inclined to believe that you are town, because as scum you would have even less reason to draw attention to you out of the blue. But if you're town, you have made yourself a target without need to do so and you have narrowed the field for the cop hunt for scum. ... Ah well, what's done is done. If we do have a Doctor after all, at least he knows whom to protect. Which of course triggers another round of WIFOM.
