yogsloth: catte is a nothingburger
but Cat is super high effort and reads pretty pure, are you a new player? Hi, I'm yog, I'm a potato
Hello, Yog! It's nice to meet you! I'm at the newer end when it comes to playing on GOG Forums. However about ten years ago, I co-moderated a ton of games on another site. Are you sure you are a potato and not
an outer god?
supplementscene: Right so my wagon is leading and as it stands I am getting lynched or we get no lynch. I'm Town Bodyguard, which is partly why I wanted to know who the Cop was, as ofcourse I have the power to stop him being lynched. If I do get lynched and I flip Town Bodyguard occurs I would request my number 1 scum scent of Liftrasil gets lynched on Day 3. I'm claiming early because I don't think the role is that important to town and we can also discuss who to protect if I don't get lynched. I think the absent csanjuro is probably the remaining Mason
You've been spending most of Day 2 looking for a Mason and then a Cop or anything else except the Mafia. You do not get to be mad if anyone looks at that and thinks that you seem more interested in hunting down power roles to viciously murder in their sleep than hunting for mafia.
If you were looking for anyone with a Sailor role, I'd be suggesting that you are
cofusing forum mafia with Shenmue.... That's where we're at.
Telika: Cat, I have a question.
I'm doing a re-read focused on your posts. And there's one thing I didn't understand. You seem(ed) convinced that either me or Lifth are scum. I can understand half of this conviction (I strongly "attacked" Lifth's help post, so if I am scum, I'm more likely to target a townie than to be playing a distancing game) and I kinda understand your bias (I dared scrutinize even a help post for scum slips, that's blasphematory like stopping a Red Cross truck in a war zone, instantly makes me the bad guy), but were you implying that if I'm town, Lifth is scum ? I didn't get your background for this assumption.
I said that if I had to pick between Lift and yourself on Day 1 that I was more confident about Lift being Town at that time than yourself. Familiarity biases are more in effect with me on Day 1. It's when we have the least amount of information on each other and are essentially just fumbling about.
Saying that, I am over simplifying things......
With newbie help posts specifically, I treat them as separate entities from the game itself. A new player asking questions needs to be able to trust whatever answer they get and for that reason, we should be given honest answers only. I therefore don't want these types of posts to be challenged or heavily scrutinized unless the person specifically notices something wrong about the post. I do not want the new player receiving help to feel like they cannot trust any of us with their questions. I really do believe that Lift is the sort of person who would give the same answer with no regards to his alignment (town or mafia.)
Essentially these types of posts are the Red Cross truck you reference where scrutinizing them does come off as a bit blasphemous (to use your own words) because it comes off to me as suggesting that there's something wrong the advise being given. I'm not saying that you should absolutely never scrutinize them, but I wouldn't be posting about it unless you specifically see something wrong that attention should be drawn to.
I hope this makes sense.
However if we're going to talk about biases, cat biases really do rank the highest with me. Stick a cat in your avatar if you want to ensure I'm disinclined to lynch you.

Side comment for Telika specifically - I do apologize for the delay and making you wait. As we get to know each other more, you're going to find with me that it's not unusual for me to give the appearance of ignoring something then replying to it later.
Unfortunately, there are four special needs cats in this house that can be very demanding of my attention, will always be prioritized and cause me to go AFK for extended periods of time such that I ended up splitting up comments into multiple replies:
- Duke Ellington: black & white tuxedo (short hair), has diabetes & no teeth
- Ripley: black & white tuxedo (long hair), has Pandora syndrome
- Ginger: bicolor female, has kidney failure
- Romeo: orange tabby, MegaChonk on a diet
