I must say I was expecting more activity than this - my fellow townies, let's not get complacent/lazy because we nailed a scum on D1. This is the time we need to push forward, control the thread.
From toDay's posts:
babark: I kinda do, honestly. I've been through d1 stuff, and I don't see anything bucktooth did that was particularly suspicious (any more than anyone else). Glad it happened, so thanks, yeah, but still. [...]
Yep, you're firmly in the PoE.
Are you ever going to reply to my post #346, or are you planning to just go through D2 dodging it?
my name is catte: You almost certainly did see that. But as I've said in previous games (in fact I have a feeling it was you who brought it up before) the online light is virtually meaningless. I keep a GOG forum tab permanently open in every browser I use - that includes my computer at work and my phone. If the browser happens to refresh that tab then I will show as online for a while. I've never tested how long it lasts but I imagine it's on a timer and shows a person as being online for X minutes after a page load.[...]
TIL. I didn't know that the GOG online status
feature behaves this way; bleh. I expected to hear something like you thought you had some time, came on, and then something came up and you had to leave suddenly, and it'd have been fine because rule #3.
I'm pretty certain, however, that we've never had this discussion before - if I'd known about it, I wouldn't have the thoughts I had at EoD1.
dedoporno: [...] I'd say there is at least 1 scum among Babark, Catte, Joe, razza, Dessimu, RW.
[...]
Out of the list above the trickiest one I think is RW. [...]
Talk to me about the rest in the list. Do you think any of them are going to self-resolve, and if yes, which ones? What about the rest? Remember, we only have two mislynches if there are two more mafia.
dedoporno: [...] I think he only makes sense as scum if he has some special role and has decided he's just more valuable than the goon who got accused with solid arguments and people started jumping from him [RW] to his goon buddy. Otherwise it seems a bit cutthroat-y. RW did post some pretty good things near the end of the Day which felt like they came from a Townie mindset so I'm more included to leave him out of the immediate scummy shortlist. [...]
Why do you frame it as him having a special role that makes him more valuable than the goon? Doesn't any role tramp goon? Being a stump-maker doesn't count.
On to my second point - as I said in my first post of the Day, we didn't really have the votes to lunch RWarehall in the final hours of EoD1. So, given that he's generally pro-Lynch, and had made posts #361, #371 and #375, do you think that he'd try and save his scum-buddy in a scenario where he doesn't have a special role as you said? I mean, we barely made the votes to get a wagon over, and that was with his vote; you think he'd risk standing out as the one who let it go to NL, and thus his own lunch on D2?
RWarehall: [...] I was the first person to support the idea of bucktoothgamer after HSL suggested it. Although I did not change my vote at the time. In fact, I was the only player to comment on it AT ALL! [...]
Please elaborate, how does any of this make you town?
RWarehall: [...] Ambiti0nZ did switch his vote without explanation. [...]
He had said he had a scum-read on bucktoothgamer back in post #282, right behind babark.
RWarehall: [...] Well we had 8 people online/voting/available and one was Buck. [...]
Who all are you counting as said people to reach a total of seven without bucktoothgamer?
JoeSapphire: [...] not particularly. [...]
Then why did you bring it up?
JoeSapphire: [...] tbh I hadn't really read either of your bucktooth pushes, and I only had time to check the game very briefly in the run up to end of day. I saw bucktooth was the new wagon, thought 'he could be mafia, sure' and voted, then thought "I hope whatever HypersomniacLive has written there is good stuff and makes sense."
I picked up that your argument was to do with tone difference between this game and others I think? [...]
So you asked LordCephy to talk about his read of FrostburnPhoenix as an experienced player but didn't read it, you were planning to read RWarehall and me but didn't do it, and you didn't read my bucktoothgamer pushes and have no idea if they made sense...
This sounds awfully like you made zero effort to game-solve after you formed your initial pool of people to take for the D1 lunch.
In the PoE you stay.
JoeSapphire: [...] I kinda thought that the bucktooth wagon was last-minute panic that in the light of Day might not be seen as worth pursuing, if it had failed. But actually you had put in more work than I'm giving you credit for. Sorry. [...]
Perhaps you're projecting
your last-minute panic to be on the
right wagon...?
detective_razza: [...] i did manage to get through the thread and have a look.
[...]
anyways, i’m back B) i see we had a last minute vote on bucktooth and it seemed to be pretty successful?
please correct me if i’m wrong.
I don't follow - if you managed to get through the thread and have a look, why are you uncertain about the D1 Lunch outcome?
I'll check back in later, have some stuff from D1 I'd like to go over with people, and I hope that, by that time, ZFR, Dessimu and Abmiti0nZ will have made an appearance and some contributions.
