It's OP in the sense that it significantly weakens the cop, which is a strong town role normally. So I stand by calling it OP and not the sort of thing one might add when rebalancing the game because you just added a mafioso.

I don't like how you lurked through Day 1 until you picked up a wagon, I don't like your reasoning for your votes, I don't like how you claimed on Day 2 (not revealing immediately whether you used your power N1), I don't like how you had to be pushed before revealing whether you took action, and I don't like how the Pre-game potential setup has suddenly been busted out as proof of your claim.

Why should I? It just gives a Cop a potential misread. As has already been said, its a glorified Goon unless a Cop successfully checks it and lives long enough to tell the tale.

Found a nice restaurant with WLAN and just saw your funny reactions. ZFR, who had correctly read me as neutral, goes 'no way!' at the confirmation that he was right. Scum, of course, rejoices. Bookwyrm, you can thank me later for saving your behind. All those, who actually are town in my speedwagon fail to ask themselves why I, as scum without a target on me, would expose myself with such a claim. It's clear, I wouldn't do such a claim as Town. I don't lie as town. But what benefit would I have from such a claim as scum? ... Well, that leaves the question, what is more realistic. That pooka included a neutral survivor or that he included a Jester?

I admit that Joe's claim was odd to make, especially on L-2 wagon based on his absence. Let's think this over. That claim might have sense to signal Cop to look elsewhere, however if he read the Sign-Up thread with Pooka's role projection he knew that Macho Cop is as good as dead, unless he thought that a plus 1 player (12 instead of 11) could mean that Pooka changed it into normal Cop. I don't think I saw Joe mentioned something like this, but it could be the case. Nevertheless if he is Town that claim is good for Mafia, yet it could also cement him as Town and shielded him from Mafia's NK.
Now let's discuss our options here, so Joe read the Pooka's role menu and claimed Commuter. Why Commuter of all things? To point us to Pooka's post and prove that it's a thing, especially after dead Cop flips Macho? Convenient? Yes. Risky? I say too risky. What about real Town Commuter? Why he/she didn't respond? Because GOG Mafia with 2 Commuters is a possibility? Well, I don't know but let's assume it's a well known thing. So it's going like this:
1) Joe is Mafia
Joe-the false-Commuter claimed Commuter
Town-Commuter counterclaimed
Result: Town probably would lynch one, if he/she flips Town, lynch another. Result: stupid death, no real gain.

2) Joe is Mafia
same as above but this time Town-Commuter keep his/her mouth shut just because (believe in 2 Commuters, or waiting for an opportunity to claim later and looking as to who support Joe the most)
Result: if real Town Commuter is mislynched, Joe will be lynched as well. Result: same death, but live a bit longer, no real gain unless Mafia need time for something else.

3) Joe is Town
He just claimed his role hoping that Cop will do his best searching Mafia.

4) Joe is something entirely else, Town or not

Dedo mentioned that Cop claim (if done before Micro's like ZFR pointed out) or Doctor claim might have sense to do in order to fish out Town PR (I agree completely), but claiming Commuter for the risk of being lynched in case of Commuter #2, I don't get it. How many Town would believe in 2 Commuters? I want to understand you.

Kinda town reading Bookwyrm right now. If it is him and Lift and does he use this opportunity to go so hard at ZFR and Joe, instead of trying to take as much credit for Lift's claim as possible and hard distancing?

I guess if it's Bookwyrm and Lift and it looks like ZFR's leading the game to victory and it's looking like there's a doc out there somewhere then it might look like your only hope is to erode faith in ZFR.
