Ok am here and catching up. I have a nasty headache so apologies if I seem a little less patient than usual. Also I skipped lunch so I'm kind of exhausted BUT I'm here and that's what counts. If anyone wants to chat let me know, I've put aside 2 hours for the game and I'll try to keep refreshing current page while I read.

cristigale: I am not sure Lift is my top choice, but that's possible. Do you have other scum reads?
avatar
supplementscene: Mainly Laser. He fake shot me and then asked my role when I said you've shot a town player. Then he voted himself today in order to get an early lynch, those actions don't favour town

Lift putting Pooka on 3 votes on Day 1 was suspect to me

SPF I don't think is trying to solve the game

Lonzi is a big unknown
Wasn't a fan of Laser's votes today. I still think he's town.

I think Lift may be scum, but not due to his vote on Pooka. It was too early in the game to mean much to me. Still rolling over my thoughts on Lift.

I agree on SPF.

I understand on Lonzi. Looks like she is trying to catch up now.
I don't usually respond to people's comments about me but what? I'm an unknown? I posted more about my reads than basically anyone except Cadaver yesterday as far as I can remember, how is "unknown" a read anyone has on me?

You didn't eat? I hope you had a good breakfast and/or will have a decent dinner then.

That said, what do you think of the Pook(in)a day vig claim and their hesitance to shoot anyone(so far). You think their claim is genuine or no?

Also what do you think of the laser/scene thing from yesterday(where laser fake day vigged scene)? Either of them seem scummy or town to you?

You are hard to read atm for the most part with some(including me somewhat) as you post very little.

I know that can't be helped, but often it's just natural that lurkers get suspected by some players.
@Lonzi, if you feel like sharing some views on people, I will include them in the chart. The aim of the chart is showing possible alternative bandwagons, in order to avoid a no-lunch if the leading ones eventually stall or deflate.

Also, adding the motives behind those views might be even more helpful than the views themselves. Although sometimes people say “it’s a gut feeling” or do not give give any explanation at all. Less helpful for scumhumting (and uncompromising), but still indicative of a possible bandwagon.

@Cadaver: Thanks for replying about the language questions. So, you would say that the “pockets sewn” is an idiom in Russian, in your area?

The question on the original language of the Court of the Sultan game might possibly be better addressed to @Lazy, then. He mentioned that he had to translate the rules from the original language. I am wondering which language is that.
I am nodding off again cause it's too late. Will have to finish tomorrow (technically today).

It is OK. At least you could deliver not only a list, but also the motives for the list. The latter might be even more important. So, time well used.

Speaking of lists....when's your little chart/list/etc thing going to be posted? :)

Carradice: @Cadaver: Thanks for replying about the language questions. So, you would say that the “pockets sewn” is an idiom in Russian, in your area?
No, I would not, and I don't believe there is such an idiom in Russia about pockets, I believe we have something about sewing mouth/tongue (in a meaning of *shut someone's mouth / keep a secret* > yet we would rather say to *keep someone's tongue right behind his/her teeth*), but definitely not about pockets, at least I don't know anything about it. Also we have something about keeping hands in pockets (probably the whole world have it), or even *keep you pocket wide open* (meaning fat chance you get anything in a sarcastic way).

So I wouldn't say that as an idiom in Russia. I've said exactly what I've said to show how my pockets were literally sealed/closed/shut you name it (see attached).
What's this about the passion for language all of the sudden? And the most importantly how should I say it properly, that my pockets are actually sewn (sewn up)?

Yes, all I heard is that the rules were *adapted* and that original language is not English. Have you thought that I was the OP on that game for some reason?

Hopefully today! I will consider views expressed in D-2 only. I might have to ask for people’s views if I cannot find them. The format will be the same for the last versions in Zeffer’s Harry Potter game.

Also I was thinking of experimenting with the delivery format a bit, to make it a bit clearer. You will see :)

Hopefully it will help also the fellows in the Observer’s thread, so that they have more stuff to sink their teeth into.

Offtopic: Why would one have their pockets sewn shut/up? Just curious.

I believe they were replying that bit at & asking laser, hence the bolded name.
@Game Ranger haven't read to the dayvig claim, don't see how that's ever a fakeclaim though? Like, dayvig is just going to shoot you. Happy to find out that my early read there turned out to be a good one.

I thought the fake dayvig yesterday was incredibly stupid and I hate that it happened but I'd rather not talk too much about it because this isn't my home etc. Suffice it to say that I get precisely nothing from it alignment wise, it's extremely easy for scenes to fake that, I didn't think the shot was real when I was reading through and if I didn't there's no reason why anyone else can't have thought the same, besides which it's just a done thing that you claim town in those situations, gambits weren't invented yesterday. The whole thing was just a pointless distraction.

Anyway, I've seen too many reckless selfish plays from townies to think that Laser can't be a villager after pulling that stunt, definitely not something I'm going townread him for though. I don't know, just based on yesterday I don't really think I'm ever going to get there on him this game, so I just have to hope that I'll be able to clear him off a flip at some point.

I don't understand how anyone is reading me as a lurker but whatever, probably a self-perception issue.

Have you even wear a suit jacket? Have you checked outside pockets? Were they open for use? (see attached)

Carradice:
About *keeping a secret* idiom we usually say *to keep/put mouth/tongue on lock*. While *keeping tongue behind teeth* is usually a harsh way to say *shut your mouth* or *you shouldn't have said that / don't you dare to say anything about it again*.

But like, even if I haven't been active yet today, I've made posts, I've given reads, I've contributed to the game in a tangible way (or at least I hope I have). Saying your read on me is that I'm a lurker / unknown feels like such a mafia move, literally just go and read my posts and write out your thoughts on what I have put into the game because I'm pretty sure you won't be able to justify anything other than a townread if you're being honest with yourself.

Cadaver747: 4. Ah yes, discussing what the cop should and should not be investigating for a second time.
And why cop should waster his power on you two if we can just lynch you for free?
Okay so, when I read this I ask myself, would Cadaver actually feel comfortable saying that as a wolf? I sure as hell wouldn't, but I'm also not Cadaver. I think there are two sides to this, with one being that it's his second mafia game ever so he would be a lot less comfortable saying things like this, and the other being that it's possible he has a particular brand of newbie brashness, which some type A people have the first time they play mafia, where they're not afraid of anything and have no self-awareness / no idea what comes across as wolfy etc. I don't really get that read from him? I think baseline "we can just lynch you [both] for free" is more on the side of righteous villager prepared to exercise his divine right to kill than sinister wolf rubbing this person's face in it, mostly because, yeah, I think you would have to feel super confident to be comfortable making that statement, and something else that I'm not sure how to explain actually, and now I lost my train of thought so it doesn't matter, I'll come back to it if I remember.

Would appreciate other people's thoughts on this, for the sanity check if nothing else.
