KingofGnG: The last time a checked, Chrome OS was an Internet-dependant environment working only with web apps. So no, that "OS" won't be useful for anything more than Web browsing for the next 2 centuries...
omega64: Ah is that what Chrome OS is. I was under the impression it was just a regular Linux Distibution as I've never used it.
That’s the problem with the term Linux: it can mean anything. Technically, Linux is just the kernel, but is has become synonymous with the entire operating system and all of its derivatives. Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system, in fact, it’s based on Gentoo. The system has been modified by Google so that it will let the user ‘install’ web-apps only. You’d have to install a separate environment, e.g. by using chroot, to get under the bonnet.
