IanM: Do you want GOG to be like Steam and just totally open for any game to be sold here? if so I think the quality of customer support will be lost forever.
"Any game"? You are aware that Braid is better than 90% of the indies sold here, right? The problem with GOG is the total lack of criteria. Stuff like Surgeon Simulator, Slender and Dark Matter are accepted (ok, Dark Matter was pulled, but that game should never had been sold in the first place), while good games like Braid and MaW 3 get rejected. It really doesn't make any sense at all.
Of course no one wants GOG to open the floodgates like Steam did, but we're not talking about a shitty flash or RPGMaker game like those on Desura, for fuck's sake. Braid may not appeal to everyone, but no game in GOG's catalog will ever appeal to everyone. In fact, i didn't enjoy it that much myself, but it's not a bad game by any means and really deserves its place in GOG.
LiquidOxygen80: Better idea. Contact the publishers of said AAA titles and tell them to stop being tightasses, in a polite way, of course. Maybe mention wishlist numbers and let the other members know, so we can "raid" their forums. :)
Why the fuck should anyone bother to contact publishers if GOG is not interested in selling games?
Barry_Woodward: But there are plenty of older indie games that have been a part of bundles and heavily discounted in numerous Steam sales that sold just fine here. The assumption that everyone that would want the game already has it is inaccurate, not to mention the sales from people that would buy it again just to have it on their game shelves.
Mark of the Ninja, for example.
BreOl72: Fixed that for you. ;)
Btw - it never is, was or will be a good idea to follow the hypetrain.
Oh yeah? There are quite a few games here in GOG that i really consider to be extremely overrated, and i don't think GOG should refuse to sell those games because of that.
