Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

So, I've never actually seen this "in-game overlay" I've heard of even once so far.

For example, I'm playing Pillars of Eternity. Is it available for this game?
Does anyone know if you can share installs with steam? I have all the stalker games, but not the internet speed and cap to re-download it all. Can I just point it to install in my steamapps folder and have GOGGalaxy identify the existing files?

Nope, you can't.

I think you may try importing existing files and see what happens.
Copy Stalker folder to different location, go to game page, click on more -> manage installation -> import folder and head to the folder with installed game. There is a chance that at least gamedata.db* will be recognized and not re-downloaded.

As far as I know, Steam executables are different(They have DRM) from the GOG ones. So I am not sure pointing out will work unless you manage to download the DRM free executables.

The experimental game overlay is available in games that support it, which at the moment include:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Prison Architect

Once the feature is working properly and reliably it will no doubt be available to other games as well. If it requires changes to the game code itself, then it will probably only get added to new games and games that are still updated with new patches from their respective publishers. If there is a way for GOG to make it work with old games without source changes, then they'll probably do that in the future as well. Right now it is an unstable experimental feature so they're not going to want to enable it for everything across the board until it works properly or they'd have to hire 10000 new people to handle the incoming tech support burden. :)

Do you have or know where to find any screenshots of it? I'd like to see how it looks but searching for "GOG Galaxy overlay" on Google doesn't yield anything serious.
Ok, so I tried it for the first time...

It's nice, but pretty useless as a downloader due to very basic features missing, which would be taken as granted in most similar applications.

If I download a "backup" I do so because I intend to use it in the future. You know when for example I do not have an active internet connection or costs money and so on. Not to mention there is no reason to download something every time I decide to install/uninstall it.

The current behavior of blindly downloading anything the user clicks is just dumb, and wastes time, bandwidth and money for everyone including GOG - the bandwidth could be a lot better utilized for other purposes...

a, The client should be aware of the files downloaded to my storage, e.g. external HDD where I select the location
b, There must be a feature to recursively scan the folders in my location(s) and import the installers as if they were just downloaded. You really should not expect people downloading few hundred GBs or even TBs just because they decide to use Galaxy... that's insane.
c, I thought if I downloaded via Galaxy (even without scanning/importing backup files) at least the client would know about the files afterwards... how wrong I was!
- Installing would blindly start downloading the game,
- clicking on a file that already exists would blindly download the same file
A very basic file manager/sync program would always check for the hash of the local copy first, would compare it with a hash list obtained from the GOG server, and only if they differ would attempt the download.
There should be an option to re-download if the user insists for whatever reason, but blindly downloading anything clicked is a big no-no.
d, Why the hell should I click on every single file to download it? At least make an option to select all, and then I would untick the files I do not want.
e, incompatible installers should be converted to compatible ones.

Using the client now is not any better than using a browser... and it's only a little missing to make it actually useful.

GOG Guys,
I am very happy to help out with programming these features or giving you a design if needed - how it is now won't convince anyone to use it at all.
It's not that much is missing, but right now it is a bunch of disconnected features combined into a single program that tries to mimic browser behavior.
Guess what? If I want to use a browser, I use one.
There must be a vision for this client, there has to be user stories, etc.
This client could be very significantly improved into a state that everyone would LOVE to use with a better design and some work. There is no chance the client would be widely used in the state it is - as it replicates existing features rather than adding new ones. Ever heard of "what is in it for me?" Right now, nothing much - but it could be very different.
This is my view both as a user and a software engineer.

Tyrrhia: Do you have or know where to find any screenshots of it? I'd like to see how it looks but searching for "GOG Galaxy overlay" on Google doesn't yield anything serious.
No, I'm not sure if there is an easy way to take screenshots of it since it doesn't support screenshots. :) Also, it does not appear that there is any easy way to use Steam to launch GOG Games through Galaxy either, so the Steam F12 screenshot function can't be used for that either. You can launch GOG games through Steam, just not through both Steam and Galaxy together.

Basically, when you SHIFT-TAB pop up the overlay, you get 3 white panes. From memory, the left shows your name and account info, the middle is your friend list and the right is a chat/conversation window. At the moment it is very basic.

Update: After sending this I got to thinking... I did some overlay beta testing months ago and went and looked at my bug reports and I did have screenshots of it however they are of bugs encountered at odd resolutions so it looks kind of terrible in those (one was massive triple-head setup). I found one screenshot that shows the Witcher 3 overlay as of 3 months ago (so it may look different currently, unsure). I tested the game overlay at 1024x768 and found some UI element scaling and font scaling issues that I reported. I'm attaching the screenshot below for the curious, but don't ask me how I took the screenshot as I haven't got a clue...

What the heck, I decided to attach the mega-triplehead screenshot also just for kicks.

NOTE: The red lines I drew in to highlight glitches, and to show where the boundaries of each monitor were in triplehead.

skeletonbow: ~snip~
Thank you!

Now I know that it exists. There are a lot of images of Galaxy achievement notifications on the Internet, but nothing when it comes to the overlay. I thought it was pretty much just a myth. :P
I hope when the overlay is fully functional and the Galaxy client reaches stable status that GOG ads a new optional feature to the overlay to subscribe to get in-game notifications of games on your wishlist going on sale during flash sales and Insomnia sales so you don't miss them when they're up for like 2 minutes. Even better would be if you could buy GOG promotions inside The Witcher 3 when you're at the blacksmith, armorer etc. :)

Completely agree!
The development has been painfully slow and major features such as profiles and achievements are missing or nonexistent.
The chat sucks too.

I'm using the client, but It's hard to make my friends use it in this state. Hurry up before people get annoyed.
Every time where i open the Galaxy, My computer's bright to MAX!!! My poor eyes,so sadness.

And I can't find My "Logs" folder

On windows paste %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs in address field, should work.
The GOG store is not very pleasant to browse with the client. In Browse games, make any search criteria or select a sorting option. Then view any game's store page, press back button and all the sorting options are reset. :(
