Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Not sure how long the feature has been there, but I just noticed in Galaxy if you hover over "Library" it drops down and you can pick the operating system and it will filter your game library to just games for that operating system. Pretty cool as I'm using Windows 7 but I can easily see now that 62 of my games are supported on Linux, and 158 on Mac. That was not easy info to find out previously, so it is nice to see this feature there.

I did discover a glitch though, when I click on Linux it does show 62 of my games that have Linux support but for games I have already installed in Windows it shows "Installed" while all of the other games it shows as "Not yet available" in red. I know Linux support isn't ready in Galaxy yet, and of course it wouldn't work in Windows either but lets assume for a second that Linux support is completed down the line... I'd recommend all of the games including ones that are currently installed in WIndows - show up as "Incorrect platform" or something, as the current display implies that your Linux games are installed and ready to play in Windows. :)

Thanks for the useful feature nonetheless, it's good to know what the support for our libraries is like on other platforms without having to have or use those platforms to find out. I wish Steam had this feature also.

BKGaming: Are achievement pictures downloaded every time you restart the client and try to view them? Seems like they are as it's kind of slow when I'm trying to look at them for Tropico 5, like there slowly downloading. This is the first game I'm really trying to get the achievements for.

If so can we please like cache these or something by the client so it only loads slowly on the first view...
We'll look into it, definitely they should be cached between restarts but I know that not everything is currently (game version for example).

ipickert55: This is real nitpicky, but the lack of animations for webpages in galaxy really annoys me, in particular the store page. In any normal web browser, is does a shifting animation to the next product and the next color background. I'm guessing this has something to do with GOG's web browser, will this ever be changed?
We've disabled the animations sometime between alpha and beta due to rendering helper process not properly sleeping when Client was minimised as well as gpu acceleration not handled properly on some computers, which generally resulted in cpu usage being not what we'd call optimal when Client was idle.

However, as of 1.1 we use a much newer renderer that improves in all these areas, so while we're still looking into performance and have quite a few improvement ideas, we'll be very likely bringing back the animations sooner than later.

So I am quite happy with GOG Galaxy so far, but I did have a small question. I bought Machinarium through Humble Bundle some time ago and I was wondering if it is possible to get it to show up in GOG Galaxy? Is this a compatibility issue or is what I am asking just impossible because of the installer isn't from GOG?

Thanks!

Take a look here.
Is there a way to view all possible achievements for a game? This War of Mine is registering achievements, but I'd love to be able to view them all like on Steam. Is that not possible yet?

If you go to the game screen (under PLAY), you should see the last couple you unlocked. Under that you should see show all which will show all of the achievements for said game.

Clicking show all definitely only expands the list of achievements I've unlocked. Perhaps this is only the case with "This War of Mine"

Might be, don't own that game. But typically clicking show all shows all achievements, with locked achievements being greyed out.

Seems that in case of this game, developer set every single achievement as hidden (secret) so that their names and unlocking conditions aren't supposed to be known to the player.

We have an improvement planned to actually display such achievements but differently: as a placeholder "secret achievement" without name and unlocking conditions for every such achievement rather than not showing the achievement at all. This should help to clear the confusion a bit :)

Thanks by the way, I'm not 100% sure if they are or not. On my laptop they seemed to show really quickly, but I don't have anything installed and I was looking at them via Galaxy through the library -> game page.

On my desktop they load pretty slowly on first view after a restart. But I have 105 games installed. So I'm wondering if it because they are not be cached or if its because Galaxy has such issues starting with 105 game that it's making the client slow as hell to do anything. It takes a good 2 min or so just to get on the game icons to load on startup with that many games installed.

You couldn't by chance give is a rough estimate though when the next large update might be coming can you, like the overlay or something? Can we expect something before the end of the year?

Very nice
Ok, so I have Hard West installed and it takes up roughly 4.6 GB in its install folder. The game was updated today and Galaxy is currently in the midst of a 10 GB download to update the game?!?!?! This is not an uncommon occurrence either. Can someone please explain to my why Galaxy feels the need to re-download the entire game EVERY time something has an update? The bonus question is...why is the size of this "update" twice the size of the actual game. I thought Galaxy was supposed to be a convenience, not a torture device that keeps me from playing my games as I wait for downloads...

Edit: Sorry, that last bit sounded meaner than I intended when I reread it. It was intended more as sarcastic frustration than vitriolic anger. :)

All I can say at this point is that the next Client update will focus on game compression and updating, as the team was hard at work on the backend side reworking Galaxy Content System that is the foundation for both. This should improve downloads for both installation and updating by quite a lot (and it's still not our final word on the subject).
Also this is very likely not the "large update" you might be thinking of, but very important one nevertheless. When is it coming and what is coming after... I'd prefer not to say (yet).

That's fine, thanks for the update.

As a user on a limited network, we thank you. :P So trust me I am really looking forward to that as well. Lol
Downloading back-up files (particularly those larger than 1GB) results in a disk access error. EDIT: Reported to MANTIS.
