Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

BKGaming: Terraria is downloading an update over 800MB? This doesn't seem right. Terraria is less than 200MB when installed, I don't see how it has such a huge update? There is nothing in the update notes that looks to count for this huge increase in patch size. The standalone installer (while compressed) doesn't seem to have increased in size by much, so this does not make sense.

Just want confirmation this is the correct size and that Galaxy isn't downloading something it shouldn't be. Thanks.
No, the setup file has less than 150 MB but the installed game has 841 MB (882.051.187 bytes) according to Windows. So what you are seeing looks correct if you use Galaxy.

No, I looked at the installed files on my hard-drive according to what was in C:/GOG Games (where all my Galaxy games are installed)... hell I can provide a pic, the game was at no more than a bit over 150 MB before this latest update according to Windows. After the latest update it's now over 800MB when it was not before. Which was why I asked why the game was downloading so much now when the game had never been that big before and nothing in the change long indicated something that big in the patch.

I know it's over 800 MB installed now... if your read my other post I linked someone who checked apparently found the games images folder has grew a lot after the last update.

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_update_thread/post9659

So while what Galaxy is downloading is correct, it weird the game has nearly quadrupled in size.

I have had plenty of issues with GOG Galaxy so far, mostly relating to Downloading games.

1) Witcher 2 Achievements don't work. I am playing on Easy.

2) The client freezes when I try to verify my Pillars of Eternity installation. It stays on "Receiving file list" for hours.

3) The client shows The Bard's Tale as unavailable. So I am unable to install it through the client itself. All the other games in my collection don't have this problem.

4) When downloading games, the client crashes and gives me a disk error. I know Avast is behind this issue, but is there a workaround that does not force me to disable it or add it to the exclusion list?

5) Downloading games directly from the client also shows a steep increase in the download size, and I know this might be because it downloads all the games uncompressed. Is there a chance of downloading compressed archives and subsequently unpacking them once download completes? That's what clients like Steam and Origin do.

6) The client is a resource hog at times.

I know the client is beta, but isn't there a way to incorporate your excellent GOG.com Downloader to the client, so the biggest concern people have with it gets fixed?

So I re-installed GoG yesterday after having the problem where mouse and keyboard get their inputs mixed up (left click on mouse takes you into properties if you click a icon etc.).

It worked flawless. I added Massive Chalice (previously installed) into the GoG Client. Still worked.
I added Witcher 3 ... Keyboard stopped working and mouse acted up the second it started loading/checking/moving the game.

So something in Witcher 3 messes up my GoG. I already tried re-install it from Client but the results are the same =/
Since it's an app with embedded Chromium, I tried some of the Chromium options. Providing pretty much any command line parameter to the client leads to empty page and subsequent access violation on exit. It can be --help or --winhttp-proxy-resolver - doesn't matter much. I understand the reasons behind disabling flags (kinda, protocol snooping paranoia is just that - paranoia) but it'd be nice for the application not to AV under such circumstances.

Not all of GOG's games are currently supported in Galaxy. Bard's Tale is one such example.

The GOG team has mentioned in the past that they will be optimizing both procedures.

The option is there but it is in no way ready yet so it's not usable yet. Not really missing, just not done.

Grargar: What do you think is the biggest concern with Galaxy?
The whole downloading system of the client.
I just installed Far Cry with Galaxy and would like to continue playing from my savegames from my previous installation however the game starts up like it is a fresh install with no previous savegames. Most games put their savegames into My Documents which is on C: on my system so even if the game is installed somewhere else it should still find its savegames as long as they're in My Documents, but that does not appear to be the case for Far Cry. ;o(

I searched my system and found savegames for Far Cry 2 in My Documents, but not for the first game. I found the directory the game was previously installed into on C: and it is just an empty directory currently that did not get erased when the game was uninstalled, although the contents are gone as expected.

I've installed it now on E: and when I go into the directory it is installed to it appears that the game profiles and savegames are stored within the game's installation folder. I'm not sure if that is how it always was or if this is new to the Galaxy installation but I assume it is the same as it always was. If that's true then the save games should be in the original game folder on my C: drive however that is completely empty. This is quite disconcerting as I was 2/3 or more through the game. ;o(

I'm not absolutely 100% the savegame files are completely vanished yet as I haven't done an exhaustive sleuthing session yet but it's pretty disappointing to say the least as I just wanted to pick off where I left off and complete the game finally. I have no idea if they're hidden somewhere that I have yet to find, or if the game's own uninstaller blew them away when I uninstalled it, or if there was a "keep save games?" prompt that I accidentally chose incorrectly on when I previously uninstalled the game, or if Galaxy could have possibly blown them away somehow (although that seems unlikely).

Has anyone else experienced this with Far Cry whether or not they're using Galaxy?

Posting this here instead of the Far Cry forum as I'm curious if people installing the game via Galaxy have encountered loss of savegames also. Seeking datapoints/co-relation.

Now going back to hunting for the savegames and digging through Windows backups to see if there's a backup of them or not. Worst case I'll have to start the game over perhaps, although I really didn't want to do that as I've played the first half of the game like 10 times and want to finish it this time. :)

...

Update: Hunted the system and tested where the new Far Cry installation puts its savegames, which is indeed in the game folder (yuck). So my savegames definitely did get vanquished at some point in time. I've no way currently to know what the root cause was though, but I'll be testing a Galaxy uninstall of the current installation probably tomorrow to see if it blows away the new savegames that I just created and report back.

Sadly, I went through my Windows backups and the game installation directories are not backed up which makes sense because you'd have to configure each game one at a time to be backed up or not, or back it all up which could be multiple terabytes which is impractical. Bummer for me.

So is GOG planning to fix the "game backups" downloads in Galaxy? Since it just more time consuming for me to click every little buttons in Galaxy? Since i only use Galaxy to Witcher 3 and for the installers and extras.

If you mean one-click game+patches download and one-click bonus-extras download like on the website with GOG-Downloader I don't believe GOG developers have ever said anything about future changes or improvements to the download backups option screen. Be sure to file a wishlist entry for it on the GOG wishlist under Galaxy and post a link here for people to vote on it. Be as clear and detailed as possible in your comment when filing the request so it's well understood by them what you mean, whether it is what I described or something else though, that'll increase the chance of it happening.

Hey there everyone. Just tried Gog Galaxy client.
Very new to this so for all I know the things im about to say may have been covered many times before..anyway here goes.
I tried it and uninstalled it 20 minutes later because after taking a good look i didnt really see the point. It didn't seem to offer anything. I couldnt see anything different from the website. I didnt see any community hubs or anything. Also i read somewhere that Gog Galaxy had a function to launch multiplayer games for old school titles. I thought this was great because it would give me an alternative to gameranger for old games....but I saw no multiplayer hubs at all.

All of that would have been fine if Gog Galaxy had been able to import my gog games in my actual gog folder on my hard drive (using the plus button in the top left) but it couldnt find a single gog game no matter how many times i tried.

So its a fail unfortunately...but thats okay, i still enjoy my gog games the good old fashioned way (by installing from my gog downloads) and I use steam daily so I dont feel im missing out on anything.

Nice idea Gog guys but unfortunately there was nothing useful (or that worked) in the client for me.

Thanks. Ill still keep buying and downloading your games but i think ill steer clear of the client.
