Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

BKGaming: Then what are you referring to? You talked about shortcuts so perhaps you should explain better then. There is no actual way to create a shortcut in the client other than via the client creating one during install.
If you read carefully then you will find that you answered your own question.

I can't help you if you think it needs further clarification. But I can and will assure you that those that are capable of providing an answer, namely the GOG Galaxy development team, will unquestionably know exactly what I'm asking.

You know if your going to come here asking questions and seeking help, it would work so much better for you without you being an ass. The dev team hardly ever answers anything... good luck with that.
I installed WITCHER free DLCs using Galaxy. My cart still not empty after this. But only in Galaxy (even after a several restarts):

When should we expect new functions, like in-game overlay or download pausing? ctrl+F would be great too.
And are witcher 2 achievements broken on Galaxy side or it's not yet implemented by devs? (It shows achievements' list in Galaxy but non of them are working)

Venom: We've released Galaxy 1.0.2, with a couple of new features:
- localisation: you can now change the language to english, german, french and russian
- games change logs are now available on the game view (for selected games only)
- you can now access not compatible games from library, so you will always be able to download backup installers and extras
- self update improvements and bug fixes
- various minor bug fixes

We might push another small update today or tomorrow, as we need to squash one more minor bug that might affect users who are not logged in.
avatar
Venom: Some of the known issues fixed with 1.0.2 update:
- placing game installation folders inside Galaxy Client installation folder can cause loss of data on update or uninstall
- games not compatible with your current operating system cannot be accessed from the Library page
- when starting with the OS, Client doesn’t start minimised
- UI is currently available in English only but occasional quirks may happen where “download extras” list is displayed in another language
- option to change currency and some other settings aren’t yet accessible in the Galaxy
- PayPal payment window sometimes does not show properly on Windows

I don't want to clog the front page with more Witcher 3 threads, and it's Galaxy related, so I'm gonna ask this here.

The Witcher 3 is one of few games I have installed through Galaxy. Most of my other games I imported. Witcher 3 is also the first game that after installing through Galaxy I tried to launch, and it did something weird. Instead of launching the game... it launched Galaxy instead, and brought me directly to the Witcher 3 page inside Galaxy. I tried replicating this several times, and it's always the same. Clicking my desktop icon for The Witcher 3 always just launches Galaxy and brings it to the game page. Then I have to click the "play" button in Galaxy to actually launch the game.

Is it suppose to do this? Is this unique to The Witcher 3, or does this happen with all games installed freshly through Galaxy? And finally, is there any way to make it stop? I want my desktop launchers to actually launch the games, thank you.
avatar
Eldur: After installing via GOG Galaxy, the install files are deleted completely - but then you'll get an option to download the installer files (practically: again) plus the extras files (but no one click for all option).
Actually, Galaxy syncs an already installed version when you choose "Install" and then runs a cleanup script/app to set up the game after. It doesn't download the installer and then delete it after as you suggest. The question has come up before earlier in this thread and GOG developers have clarified it as I mention. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the shortcut is set to the a Galaxy launcher exe for Witcher 3 rather than the direct exe for the game. I do know some games have both, one for Galaxy and one for the actual game. Fix this by changing the target of the shortcut to the game exe or just create a new one.

Manually go to your Witcher 3 game folder and find the exe that launches the game directly, right click and create a new shortcut to it. Move it to desktop if needed.

Yeah, this sounds like an inadvertent shortcut bug. Someone who encounters it should file a bug with support or mention it in the update thread so the next update has it fixed.

deadfloat: Hey look, here is some sage advice from... well, you.

"How how about understanding it's a damn beta and it's in progress, features aren't added in an hour... Jeez. "
avatar
BKGaming: There is major deference between complaining about crap that has not been added yet and was in progress to complaining about features that have been messed up since early alpha. The damn updating does't work right because it downloads files already there and has been like that since it has started.

I damn well know it's a beta, but the major point of Galaxy is the update system, if it doesn't work right then there is zero point in Galaxy.
What you just said belongs in the same boat as the pause/resume issue. The galaxy client should be smart enough to check the data installed in the game folder and not re-download it. Being able to download a game without errors and excessive bandwidth usage is the very first thing this client should have been able to do. Every other client function is dependent on that first one.

Thank you, I've got it all fixed now, don't know why I didn't think of that before.

Took some time to find the EXE for the game though. It wasn't in the main folder like normal (Or at least not like I'm use to), it was stuffed into the BIN x64 folder for some reason.

And I'll file a quick bug report, hopefully it won't have to happen to too many more people.
It's the 3rd day in a row now, that I launch Galaxy and it keeps telling me "not connected." Pressing the Connect button attempts to connect for a few seconds, but then reverts to the "not connected" status. My internet is obviously working or I wouldn't be posting this right now, so... any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

Not saying it's not a valid complaint, but it's not a deal breaker... you can exit the client and pick up where you left off on restart. So it can somewhat do this. My point was it's also not a feature they have had months to work on and get right like the update system. Should they have had that in by now? Probably but it is what it is.
avatar
Venom: You can use Galaxy to download backup installers. Navigate to your Library, choose a game and go to "More" -> "Get Backup & Extras". You can download a standalone installer for each game and all the goodies.
Thank you for renaming this, it's now less confusing.

BTW, do we have a single place for the changelogs? Galaxy has been updated thrice since the beta release if I'm not mistaken. And the only place I've found them is several post from you in this thread. But it's tiresome to look for them here as this thread is frequently updated. Can we probably have a separate sticky thread with changelogs only?
