I think you might be reading too much into the surrealist thing. The punch line is 'a fish', as cristigale correctly posted*. The whole point of the joke was to point out that I thought asking for partners was fishing. However, it really isn't that much of fishing, in hindsight, so I think I may have overreacted.

I got what you meant right away, my point was it's about as helpful to say who your Lover is as it is for 8 people to change a light bulb. Knowing the pairs of Lovers does nothing to help town at this point. As I said earlier, there are 4 pairs of Lovers we have a 50% chance of hitting scum no matter who we lynch so knowing pairs is rather pointless.

My math suggests differently.

4 pairs of Lovers, 2 Pairs have scum. You lynch anyone and you automatically remove a pair so there is a 50% chance that no matter who we lynch that we hit scum. You have to base it on pairs of people not individuals.

I agree with this today. After the first lynch/flip, however, the pairs and who voted/pushed for whom will hopefully provide some clues.
