TUSHAR451: Same here too. Last night i connected both my accounts and it told me to check back later. Today morning I come back and it tells me that there has been an error and that i should try again.

Only problem is I dont know how as refreshing the page just gives me the same error message.

Now im worried whether many of us will get the free games at all since it is for a limited time only.
Go read this:

soundmonkey: So, on behalf of all humans here, I would ask of thee, oh super-moderator of all things GOG Connect related, please inform us here, officially:

1) What do the "An Error has Occurred" or "Oops, Something went wrong" errors mean, and are they intentionally vague?

2) What is the best course of action after experiencing said error?

Thanks.
1. It means an error of some sort has occurred. Yes, they are intentionally vague.
2. The best course of action is to wait a while (I personally suggest 24 hours), then try again later.

soundmonkey: I understand that you believe this and all other threads like this are duplicates or spam, but, believe it or not, your link contains absolutely zero information about what "An Error Has Occurred" or "Oops, Something went wrong" mean. In fact, it's mostly bickering between those disappointed and contains no relevant troubleshooting information at all.

Keep in mind that people (human beings) are simple creatures that look for direct insight into problems before searching the peripheral.
It's not just him. A good deal of the community is becoming irritated with these threads being made. They're getting frustrated because the threads keep popping up despite a good number of them already being visible on the front page of the forum complaining about Connect. Not to insult your intelligence, but one would assume that a reasonably smart person would open one of these threads before making a new one with essentially the same title and same message.

Have you actually read the OP in the thread? He clearly states that the problem occurring is because everybody is trying to connect at once, and it's too much for the API to handle. There IS no troubleshooting of note other than to wait for a while then try again later, which he also clearly states to do. The bickering that's occurring is happening at no fault of his, but the fault of other people in the thread who clearly either haven't read or haven't understood the OP.

Same issue here.

"OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG.
Please try agian."
And here.
Been happening here for hours too. Cannont connect to my Steam account.
The "oops something went wrong" from what I can deduct is a connection issue between the client and the steam web api server that has been set up. Since you have only 100'000 calls max per day allowed (unless valve specifies) you'll have to wait around 24 hours.

There isn't a problem anywhere apart from that the web api is down till it's reset.

Just check and try every hour in case, I legit just got in then.

soundmonkey: My account was connected, and my eligible games added to my library. It was wonderful!
This happened almost immediately after I switched my Steam profile from private to public.
...so you're basically admitting that you complained without first looking at the information that GOG themselves already offered. Information which is right there on the GOG Connect page itself, which you'd see upon trying to get it to work.
A'ight.

soundmonkey: Rather than read this message that didn't exist, I read the introductory paragraphs in full, entered my information, and combed the FAQ for any inkling of information about this procedure and why it would halt for no apparent reason.

Are you surprised to find nothing of that sort in a section entitled: "Frequently Asked Questions"?
Because I am. As the questions seem to be asked frequently, if your complaints about it are any evidence for the matter.
"HOW DOES GOG CONNECT WORK?

To connect your library with GOG.com, sign in to your active Steam account via this page. NOTE: Make sure your Steam Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public."

An FAQ should not have to repeat information from the text right above it.
