Well, there's no "EA", "B"lizzard or anything. None of the "S"s are capitalised, so probably not Sierra, let alone any other developer/publisher.
Someone send medics to gog? could be a brain fart.

Ok, what the hell...? I leave the forum to it's own devices for 48 hours while I play Mass Effect 2, and I return to find that everyone has gone quite mad. GET A GRIP PEOPLE!!!

Which isn't impossible, Activision holds the rights to some Quake games according to the wiki.

I know. But what you're not grasping here is that it doesn't automatically mean that they own the rights to the game. In this case, they clearly don't. Just as Atari don't own the Unreal games and EA don't own the Half Life games. id were independent.
