Lou: Any one have some pointers?

Just tried to buy the Eschalon Games on GamersGate and it refused my card. Is this a problem they have because I have never purchsed from them before? I use the same card for D2D, GOG, and today Games for Windows (Age III) without issue. I refuse to get a paypal account.

Thanks - Lou

PincushionMan: The default method used to be MoneyBookers, but now appears to be CC via PayPal (?) if you are coming from the US. I just selected the MoneyBookers option, and off I went. (Actually, I saw PayPal, said, heck no, this is different and switched it back to MB).
I noticed the Paypal and switched to MoneyBrokers Option but no luck. I noticed the refusal had a Swedish Address on it - maybe that cause an issue - anyone else had problems?

Sorry to hear that. I ordered mine Friday. I hope that GG is not switching to PayPal Credit only for US folks. I rather like MoneyBookers. Well, if this falls through for you, you can always catch the sale direct from the dev. Good luck either way.

I will buy them from the Dev's If I am able to on Friday. May be on the road for the Holiday.
I purchased some blue coins a few days ago, no problem. What was the error message that you received?

BTW IIRC, if you purchase through Paypal on Gamersgate, you don't need an account, so you can try that.

I created an Account a few weeks back when they were giving the free game away and thought I would give them a go with Eschalon because they are DRM Free. Not impressed so far. I will have to see if one of my kids has a PayPal Account.

You don't need a Paypal account. Just select the Paypal option, and look at the left hand side where it says "Don't have a Paypal account? No problem, continue to checkout". You do not need to sign up for one, unlike GOG.

Gamersgate's payment system is still a bit iffy - I'd still rather them use a built-in payment system that accepts credit cards directly, like GOG or Steam. So, what I normally do is, I buy Blue Coins there instead. It's more convenient than having to enter card and login details everytime I want to make a separate purchase.

Thanks so much - This worked like a charm and I don't have to worry about being on the road and missing the Friday Sale from the Dev's. I just needed someone who had been through the process before.

Yup. Don't forget to set aside some Blue Coins too, especially now when the exchange rate for USD is still low. Very handy for when you're elsewhere and there's a great deal on Gamersgate that you simply have to have, and you don't want to enter your credit card details. ;)

X3: Gold, £3.91 on Impulse. I'm tempted...
Gamersgate have some pretty good deals:

Alpha Protocol, DMC 4, Medieval 2 Total War, Lost Planet 1, and Torchlight 50% off

jlg6184: The GFWL client resumes if you pause, but if there is a connection issue, you have to start over. I was about 5 GB into Bioshock, connection dropped for about 5 minutes, when I reconnected to the net, it made me restart the download (little pissed about that....)
I tried the pause button on a download of Fable, it doesn't work. Sure it pauses the download, but pressing the resume button had no effect. Only way to get the download to start again was to cancel it and start from scratch.
If i use a prepaid Microsoft pts card to add pts to my LIVE US region acc, i'm in not supported country, everyone think it will work (my friend in US bought for me)? Could my LIVE acc get banned for this?

That should work. And I don't think they'd ban you for it. They probably wouldn't even know.
