I'd be backing up to Blu-Ray or SSD if it wasn't for the usual price gouging that is so rampant here. Sadly, 'tis still far more cost effective to back up to DVD even though it's time consuming and since I moved to Win 7 I've been burning more coasters than usable discs =(

Prices will come down eventually. But I think that the main reason blu-ray is still so pricey is due to the slow uptake. Most people don't really need a drive capable of burning 25GB to one disc. Although that would definitely decrease the amount of backups I have, the risk of coasters is unacceptable financially; and backing up would be time consuming enough as it is.

I had an external. It died. Everything was lost. If a DVD gets damaged somehow (which is a lot less likely) then I only have to redownload that disc's worth of games.
