Dragobr: Can anyone confirm that GG's The Witcher is fully updated, uncensored, etc?
Also, the page says "Other DRM", what could it be?
I almost bought it for this price at Steam's summer sale, but then they raised the price without warning. Well, their loss.
gyokzoli: Somebody on the GoG staff said there is no real DRM in Witcher. Unfortunately he did not go into details.
DRM-Wise: TWEE retail didn't even have strict DRM (to my knowledge). Disc check, if that (don't even think it had that).
TWEE:DC seems to pretty much be a case of "Whatever DRM the service uses".
I bought this on Impulse a while back (mostly to not have to patch) and grabbed it on GG today (mostly because I hate downloading big things with Impulse :p).
Haven't tested it yet, but I doubt there is any real DRM here (outside of the service). Don't even have a key, so activations aren't likely/possible.
Installed it.
Content wise: It comes with the two EE modules, so no need for separate installers.
Censoring Wise: It is the DC, so none of the nudity is censored. Some of the gore might be, but I never really was sure if I had the censored or uncensored version with regard to the gore :P
All in all: Well worth the few bucks. Plus, I have a lot more control over the installer, so I can install the VO/Subititle options that I want, rather than having to do an all or nothing.
That being said: Try to get the retail EE anyway. Well worth hunting for the (poorly) translated novella (don't worry, the official translation is MUCH better :p), the nice hint book (helpful for getting stuff you missed, but not spoilerific) and all the other goodies.
