PincushionMan: Bought PacMan (PuckMan for those in Japan) from Impulse - What's Impulse::Reactor? You know with a title like that, programmers were involved.
Anyway, this should have been a nice, fast port to PC. instead, the MAME'd it (ya ya, bad pun - google it). This is PacMan programmed in either Managed C++ or C#, and it chugs on my 2GHz laptop. Okay, it has integrated graphics, but I have seen (at friend's houses) Pac Man fly on a K62-233 with 2M S3ViRGe video. Heck, it worked fine even on an 300MHz Cyrix with SiS motherboard that lost it's video settings if you looked at it funny. Back in the day, PacMan was maybe 100k in EEPROM images, so why does the EXE have to be 2.7M? To be fair, I suppose Reactor is in there somewhere. Whole setup is 15M, and I was expecting 5 and a 20-something year old game that would fly on my laptop. So, don't get this unless you have high-end hardware.
If they Mame packed it it would have run much better. Hell the Amiga 1200 can run Mame and Pacman with little fuss. Sloppy port which is pretty much what I expect from Namco Bandai on the PC.
