If I was gonna buy it for $10 I would've done it the other day when it was a daily deal on Steam itself. I don't have the hardware to play this on my own computer (I know, I tried the demo months ago), but for $5 I'll gladly enjoy this on a friend's when I get the chance. :D

Absolutely but there's no need to use a mouse (because you can't).

Well, not the mouse, but yeah, it works with the keyboard. I play with a controller personally, but I can't say I know too many games that don't work with the keyboard...

That being said, you'll need a good machine to run it on, but it's the best damn Sonic game I've played in over a decade. Already got all the achievements (...and patiently awaiting the pinball dlc), and loved every minute of it (Unless you count the final boss. The rest of the game makes up for the final boss, I assure you, but the final boss can die in a fire. It isn't hard, just really annoying and not fun). I couldn't have asked for a better 20th anniversary tribute. It's the game Sonic 4 should have been.

On that note, Sonic CD is available for pre-order from GamersGate at half price. Unfortunately, it too is not DRM free, and is in fact Steamworks, but it's going to be the definitive version. I'm ecstatic. Tails will be playable, you'll finally be able to choose between the Japan/Europe and USA soundtracks, and there will be achievements and leaderboards. Things seem to be looking up for the blue blur lately, and as a fan since 1991 I couldn't be happier. :')

There's a lot of action keys in there but if you use the arrow keys for movement, you can use the left side of the keyboard effectively.
