SimonG: If you want to know, if a game uses Steamworks = needs Steam, you can check this list

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Steam_games
avatar
gyokzoli: This is the official list and thus it's better. Also you can observe that not every Steamworks game is Steam only.
Wasteland Angel is not on that list.

SimonG: Really, I've always thought Steamworks means it requires Steam to run. And I think he tries to avoid Steam, and the list you posted only list games that can be redeemed, but aren't exclusive (Mount & Blade, e.g.)

Edit: Torchligtht might be better example
Actually Ive got no problems with steam, its just I want to make sure that I wont end up with something that require something else then steam.

Then you only need to worry about , Rockstars Social Club(only GTA IV+ and LA Noire) and Uplay ([url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uplay#Uplay]all "modern" Ubisoft titles.)

Those are all "3rd party tools" that get "on top" of Steam. AFAIK.

OK so basicly the "3rd party DRM with account" refers to steam? (With eventual GFWL or uplay ingame?)

It's easier to just do a google search: "game name" DRM
You'll get your answer in about 5 seconds.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but generally speaking. Steam is always "3rd party DRM with account", but "3rd party DRM with account" isn't always Steam. If you know what I mean.

But others might know more. AND you can use the Game Tutor on GG site, if you want to be 100% sure.

Aningan: Bastion on GG is DRM free. So there is actually no serial that you would be able to even try to activate on Steam. I actually got it when I saw the deal.
It's DRM free on Steam too actually, they give you everything you need for Steam-less running of the game in the future. One of their devs alerted me to this on twitter.
King Arthur's Gold looks interesting. No, it's not the strategy title.

Quite a lot of Steam bought games can be run without the Steam client. Is there a list somewhere? My less than average Google skills were rather useless....

Looks good, reminds me of Terraria. Since when is GG selling Alphas?

It might eventually turn up on IndieRoyale's Alpha Fund Bundle (in 5 weeks), since it's one of the alphafunding games on Desura.
