Heretic777: Just bought Cryostasis and Necrovision at Amazon DL for $1.95 each. Steam is going to get serious competition from Amazon this Xmas.
How does this amazon download thingy work exactly? Is there a client or something? to install or play?

csmith: The First Templar = $6.00 at Amazon
Really want to check this game out but will have to wait until Steam X-mas sale.
Amazon isn't open to purchases outside UK or US - even if so I like keeping all my games with one client.

Same as GamersGate only it's US only.

Steam doesn't have much to worry about - most of Steam's titles are available world wide so not only do they get sales from UK and US but from all the other countries as well.

I can get some books and music from Amazon but every time I go to purchase a game I get a big no.

Back six or seven years ago when I first moved to NZ from America I was still able to purchase most games from them and there were only a few that they had locked off but over the years they really put a slap down on what they let slip out.

Addition to my previous post, there is a $5 credit that will be given if you buy this game making it effectively $1 if you are able to use the credit in January.
Order this product between now and 12/31/2011 and receive a $5 promotional credit good towards any of the 2011 bestselling Video Game Download like "Battlefield 3" or "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" in the month of January 2012. You will receive an email with your promotional code and redemption instructions. Qualifying codes for this promotion may only be used one at a time. Here's how (restrictions apply)

I tried a bunch of pc game downloads, I get select payment and enter your credit card details page so I guess they all work. Don't wanna buy any of it and I guess they won't let me review it after I punch in my card details so I won't push my luck.

They won't sell it and not provide it, Amazon is a large and reputable company - but the sale will be canceled once you enter your credit card details and identify your location as 'Turkey.'

They already have my location in my profile. Earlier today I was looking at some ebooks and some of them were "not avaliable in your region europe".

They're not as strict with books and music.

Also, Amazon doubles as a second-hand seller site so sometimes it's possible to purchase through Amazon through an independent person selling their good through Amazon's auction area.

But when I have to go that far, I usually just use eBay because I have a long running and established account with eBay.

Any recommendations on this game? Looking for something new to poke around with and on a super limited budget, and this is somewhat tempting, but can't really make out if it is worthwhile from gameplay videos.
Civilization V $7.5 @GamersGate http://bit.ly/tvKnyH

Sorry if this has been posted, but I just noticed that GG now charge me in dollars for some reason.

I enjoyed it. It has more in common with Tomb Raider than it does with a hack n' slash as the gameplay vids would have you believe. Vastly over-priced at launch but at those prices it's well worth a punt. Decent story and voice acting too.
