bad_fur_day1: I think there's also alternate outfits for Snake, VR missions perhaps, James Bond suit.

"I told you I'd be back Killian, wouldn't wanna be a liar."

- The Running Man.
There is tuxedo.

Phantom pain especially reminds a lot of Rambo 2 or 3. Where he was in that desert place. It's almost like watching that movie. =)

I think I unlocked a suit for him in MGS4. I still say it's about as much a Bond movie as it is a cooking show. ( Which means, maybe it's a little of both, but not much. :D )

As for your list:

Deadly Premonition -- "Twin Peaks", with a bit of "Seven", and a little of everything else...

Heavy Rain -- Saw ( At least some parts of it, plus it's a very cinematic game, in general. )
999 - Cube.

Oh, now you've done it. Desert missions from Rambo 3, yes please. Phantom Pain goes onto wishlist immediately.

Never got around to that, but if there's any Saw in it, onto my wishlist it goes.

Onto my wishlist it goes.

Well, you can sneak but there is so much killing weapons that it is a shame if you just tranquilize people. Which I've done mostly but now I think it's about time to explode stuff and use machine guns. =D
The Last of Us - The Road (though, The Road provided some inspiration to TLoU, so not sure if it counts)
^A-Okay with me. You might say a little I Am Legend in there too.

Well, it would be tough to say No One Lives Forever is not James Bond like. Gadgets, spying, sneaking, shooting, space missions like Moonraker.

I also got a major The Matrix vibe off Mirror's Edge even though it's seemingly quite different on the surface. Captures Trinity running away from agents to a tee. Infact I had to pick up a gun and start shooting dudes pretty regularly.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Perfect Dark (a.k.a. Golden Eye 2)
Starring Jam(i)e(s) Bond
Okay, with the gadgets (and removing Elvis), it is similar to Die Another Day in essence
Telltale games looks like playing a movie.
Final Fantasy XIII. This game feels like playing a movie.
Evil Genius - James Bond, or more specifically a James Bond villain. Rambo and James Bond arrive on your island to try and take you out.

Hitman: Bloodmoney - Collateral

Sea Dogs - Pirates of the Caribbean

Ghost Master - Ghostbusters, except your the ghosts not Bill Murray.

Not in the sense that there's a lot of torture porn involving ridiculous contraptions, but the same basic plot and atmosphere is there. I don't want to reveal too much, to those who haven't played it, but basically a serial killer kidnapped the son of the main character, and in order to save him you have to complete certain tasks and challenges for the killer, usually hurting yourself in the process ( or sometimes others ). In one scene you have to cut off one of your character's fingers. Overall some of these scenes felt more disturbing and convincing than the later SAW films, which went a little over the top for my tastes. The killer also placed video cameras etc. at the locations, so again, like the films.

As far as cinematic gaming experiences go, with great story-telling ( and branching storylines/ multiple endings ) and memorable characters, Heavy Rain is still one of the best in this genre.

Can definitely see what you mean. The main character, opponents, setting, gameplay/movement... ( Although you can theoretically complete the game without using any weapons. )

No One Lives Forever - Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

Well, not quite, the humor in Austin Powers is much more over the top, NOLF is more like some Bond parody from the 70s or 80s.

Oh, now I remember. This may be a more proper comparison:

No One Lives Forever - For Y'ur Height Only

That movie is seriously an odd experience.

CharlesGrey: Just look at it: http://www.willardswormholes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Escape+from+LA.jpg

Big Boss much? He is even nicknamed "Snake". Hah hah.
Why wasn't I aware there was a sequel for Escape from New York? Even one made full 15 years later?

I seriously have to see that movie, I loved the original, and first IMDB reviews I saw suggested this is even a better move.

Thanks, I didn't realize that game went anywhere near that type of thing, it didn't infer that at all from what I saw of it, maybe they were trying to keep it a surprise, muchly interested now.

You might not have been aware because it's actually quite terrible, more insulting to the original than anything else. But check it out for yourself. Some people enjoy it's silliness, like most of Carpenter's later films. It definitely ain't The Thing though.

It is a very different film from the original, at least tonally, which is why a lot of people hate it.
I love it, because I think it's a kind of brilliant and subversive satire of Hollywood culture and movie sequels in general. (Admittedly, I always felt that Escape from New York was never meant to be taken entirely seriously, either.)
Also, it has one of the greatest endings in film history.

If you don't mind spoilers, here's a video review by Razorfist.
