Exactly so. The Czech system is beautifully simple in this. á é í ó ú ý are just long versions of a e i o u y. And the other mark we have softens the consonant below -- so š is a soft s, therefore "sh", and the same goes for č ř ž ň ď ť. There's some trickery involved when you dig deeper, but the general rules are easy. (I'm really starting to think we ought to move this somewhere else; I'm still a bit in IRC mode after the finale of #9.)
