ZFR: None. Except that the player who has the car is immune to kills.

It's like a total bulletproof ability that works for one day and one night, then you pass it to someone else.

GameRager: The car thing doesn't protect from lynches....so does that make it more good for town and not scum? If so, wouldn't that make the game a bit more in favor of/balanced towards town?
It’s just an element of protection. If it’s in play the game will be balanced.
Dean is not guaranteed Town?

He is not

gogtrial34987: What happens if Dean dies before receiving the car? The thematic drive for passing it on will no longer be valid...
If Dean dies the car would no longer be in play. If he is lynched then that night phase when the car would have been passed to someone it is retired instead. If Dean is the NK then he same think happens, the car is retired.

Sadly no. (see #42)

li'l' bro. play with us (but dedicate us 1/8 of the time you would usually give to a game)

(maybe you'll even get a mafia!)
bump. Maybe someone else will join us before this begins?

trentonlf: The person receiving the car does not know who it came from. When the car is being passed at night if they pick the person it came from then someone else magically receives the car (the sender is not aware). If Dean gets the car it is no longer in play.
Huh, story-wise it'd make sense that, once Dean gets the car he's immune to all kills except lynches. But in-game that would be a huge advantage to that player so it makes sense that the effect is removed from play.

Question: as you said nobody knows who the car came from. Would a scum who sent the car to a scumbuddy be allowed to tell them he did it? If they can I'm thinking that scum would get a bit of advantage here that the "can't send the car to whoever sent it to you" rule wouldn't affect them.

Not me as I said before, but I'm gladly bumping this.

If Dean got the car he would not be immune to all kills except lynches, the car would no longer be in play once he got it.

As stated the scum can not have the car for more than two nights so they can send to their buddy, but when they do they can’t tell them so their buddy wouldn’t know who it came from. Since the buddy wouldn’t know who it came from if they tried to send it back to them it would randomly go to someone else.

Then why make him the endgame goal for the car if he gets nothing from getting it?

The car getting to Dean is not an endgame goal, Dean is just a cutoff point for the benefit that the car gives. It's just a random factor that could possibly be in play that adds to the confusion of everything. Dean could get the car the first night and it never comes into play at all, or he might never get it and it's in play the whole game (if Dean doesn't die). The only way anyone will know for sure if the car is no longer in play is if Dean dies otherwise it's an unknown. If Dean gets the car he would know it's no longer in play, but he would not be allowed to announce that.

That's what I meant by endgame....it's the car's endgame/end point.

And ok then.

Ok then, in this case the effects of the car aren't that big to be a game breaker but they add a level of intrigue. It would make for interesting discussion, particularly if a player who was doomed to be the next NK survives the night.

Also, while I said that scum does have an advantage (they always know whether the player they intend to send the car to is in their team) in the end it's not a big advantage because they gain nothing from the car. They're not the target of NKs after all and as far as I'm aware lynching is the only way that town can get rid of them.

I wonder if there could be claims about car sending close to endgame. It would allow for a lot of confusion for scum to hide themselves or to tie themselves in lies that don't add up.
I owe Trent an apology. He contacted me several days ago, and I got distracted and didn't get back to him.

As much as I like closed setups, I'm going to give this one a pass. I have other things on my plate.
