Does micro honestly not realise that A - proving that micro is vanilla doesn't prove that micro is town (this has come up already), and B - it is very possible for rolecop to be scum (why wouldn't it be?).

I'm swinging on this. On the one hand it looks like micro is somewhat-overplaying-his-lack-of-knowledge, and on the other hand I keep thinking "would he do this now if he weren't genuine?" Perhaps he was handling the pressure rather less well than I thought.

First of all, this statement screams LAMIST so loud I think it woke my neighbours. (I remember the only time I ever shouted "Investigate me!" was in the first SH game where I was scum).

Second, this is wrong on so many levels.

*If* rolecop is town, you don't want him investigating you to "prove your innocence". You want him catching a Godfather. Or a strongman.

Second, and you should know it since mafiascum wiki mentions it "Role Cops are actually a somewhat popular Mafia role".
Your "If the Rolecop is scum, yikes. I don't know if such a thing is possible." is trying to show us that you think rolecoop mafiosos are "not possible" but are rather a town role? lol

Third, and you should really really know it, a rolecop won't confirm your side, just your role.

The whole of this post consists of me seeing yogsloth's "light" on when he was under pressure.

I had just woke up and failed to refresh the game, so I didn't see the whole other page of posts from him and others.

I am dumb.

I sleep a bit and now I have 2 suspects.

I've been rushed and messing up. I have been messing up on so many levels.

I forgot when bidding for this game and until reading this that rolecop ("Rolecop - Learn someone's role.") didn't reveal side/alignment; that "role" doesn't equate to "side," as I had been thinking. Thank you for the reminder. I did not think that rolecop could be scum; more on that later.

THB, I haven't paid much attention to the mafia wiki, as when i went there for the flash file, it downloaded a .swf slideshow that wouldn't play, had no sound, and looked nothing like the interactive movie-thing that others discovered.

Read my statement from the perspective (which I had) of "rolecop finds alignment", and you will eminently see why I though it could not be a scum role. In case anyone reading this didn't/doesn't get my thinking, I was thinking:

"Rolecop shows alignment. A role which shows alignment is useless for scum; they would already know who the scum are, and all non-scum are the enemies of the scum. Therefore, Rolecop is Town-only, they could investigate me and prove my innocence."

My death will do town no good, as I have played so badly that they will gain no leads. I feel ashamed, and apologize to my town teammates, you individually (and the mafia collectively) know who you are.

Since I have played so badly, i'm kinda suspicious of those who haven't criticized my play, namely Yogsloth.

I will be happy to reveal my name, etc, have asked trent if I might quote him verbatim, and am waiting on a response.

Blotunga, as you noticed, your statement is off. You messed up as I did, namely not reading but just recalling without re-checking.

I am vanilla, I did not investigate anyone last night (obviously), and as soon as Trent okays it I will quote my PM verbatim.

The fact that you suspected me but ask for "the text of your investigation last night" (after reading that I am vanilla), was an error on your part, and to my mind confirms that you are, in fact, scum.

Edit: I just saw your post, and yeah. I'm not claiming a power role; there would be 0 point to doing so (that I can see). I bid and lost, and assumed (again, not rereading, just recalling faultily) my preferred role was town-only. I honorably own up to the fact that I am VT, it would be stupid for me to claim any PR (which could be easily countered).

I think it obvious that with 17 PRs spread among 10 players, most everyone has a PR, and as a VT (I wonder if I'm the only one?), not only is it useless for me to false-claim a PR, that action would insta-damn me in the eyes of the real one.

I'm wondering if Koro is scum this time; he did a good job as town last time, maybe Trent moved him to scum or 3rd-party for this round.

If we have 2 scum, i suspect we have a 3rd-party, if 3 scum, than no 3rd party. Such is my hunch; you'll put weight behind my claim when I am lynched or NK'd, and confirmed to be town.

Based on my PM, I strongly suspect that we in fact do have a 3rd-party, but I might simply be unfamiliar with Trent's style of writing.

@Micro: how does me reading superficially and correcting myself more scum? What did trent write that made you think there are more than 2 factions? I'm sure I'd recognize it if you'd quote it.

My, my.... funny how prehistoric posts suddenly appear eons later. I spent a good portion of D1 on Korotan, partially because of his "I could be neutral" comment, and no one bothered with it.
Now all of a sudden yogsloth jumps at it, and immediately next as if on cue, blotunga.

I had Koro just as you on my fishy list on D1. If you remember I was the only one who found him off. I don't remember the post exactly, and my connection here is to crappy to try to find it but I'm sure I mentioned it. But then you started jumping on me and I had to go to sleep so I didn't pursue it.
