trentonlf: Thought I bolded my vote

Vote drealmer

Is no one else seeing that comment drealmer made as odd?

"gamma are you ever going to be scum in a game with me again? (we've been in like 10 games together and he's been scum once?)"
I know your away and posting from your phone but its not like town trent to not read and see if what he is going to post is correct. About 45 min ago I posted two above you pointing out that it does not sit well with me at all and why it does not sit well with me.

And I also asked you sometime earlier your thoughts so far. When things settle down for you I would love to hear your answer.

I also asked Dedo his thoughts. Its been a while since I played with dedo but he seems oddly quiet so far. I would like to hear way more from him and his thoughts.

*On that note. Its time to get ready for bed typing with one eye closed and not being drunk is not fun. Night all I will be back tomorrow to catch up anything I missed tonight and on what happens while I am sleeping.
Hi! I'm here to tell you that I have no clue where to start, but I got a wonderful idea of how we can figure this out. You see, after education has so astonishingly benefited me (except Business Statistics. I hate that class with the fiery passion of Ragnaros, the Fire Lord), I realized that one key element that seems to often impede us in this game, albeit sometimes it does help and assist, is that we rely on many preconceived images of ourselves and each other from former games.

Such a mechanic prevents us from properly reading someone because it adds a bias. While I appreciate the way drealmer operates, I often find myself shaking my head because he maintains a bias from previous games. Certain behaviors can be observed, that is true, and over time we form a rough schema through which we judge certain players based on how similar they are to their previous gameplays, but this can be easily skewed in out own minds up to the point of creating an alternate image of what reality truly is. Alas, we willingly decide to deceive ourselves.

I think drealmer, Hyper, and lift should take it easier with accusations. It looks like they are already raising the roof and such combative posts will only lead to them thinking of each other as scum purely based on the fact of conflict, not necessarily related to other behaviors, actions, and statements.

As I pointed out to bler I posted that question in post 103 and no one replied to me. Your response is almost the exact thing I said in post 103.

trentonlf: I said it in post 103 where I forgot to bold my vote on drealmer: bit it seems everyone ignored it or thought it was not comment worthy.
I think bler is pointing out that you did mention it first. But not everyone ignored it or thought it was not worth a comment is not correct as I did mention it in post 115 and explained exactly what bothered.

and while waiting my 10 minutes to post the statement above Hijack posted the below..

and I have to say I agree with that. I try not to take how people played in other games into to much account. However it is impossible not to take it in account a little bit. As some like last game with trent I knew something was different more by his lack of posting and his lack of fun carefree play posts. So it was more an account of what he wasnt doing. So we can try not to take past play styles or statements into affect but its completely impossible not to have some come through even is conscienceless doing it. I have to say Hijack if anyone has changed over the games it is you. And for good in my opinion. Your first statement on your not sure where to start is a new hijack im not used to and like it. Before to me you were ready to jump in and go all kinds of way and sometimes it could come off as defensive is someone didnt see your point or they were on a different page and now the change t is more of your reactions and how you play as taking more things into account and not just reacting and wildly going in directions. I hope this makes sense as I tend to ramble to try to make my points when im ytired.

TL;DR (LAST PART) I totally agree that getting into a tunnel view on past experiences is not good and harmful to the game an that we should all be taking into account action, behaviors and statements from this gam,.e

I try to point this out every game and I usually get ignored on that too so good luck getting people on board with it. So come day 2 and beyond it will be "well in past games they did this so this time they must be this"

yogsloth: Lift - you think I randed Scum and was like "gonna be a dick and make Lift hate me"? Just checkin'.
lol.

yogsloth: Mostly I have no idea how to play this. Like I said, I am going to be an enormous source of amusement for Mafia so I just hope it's people who will properly enjoy it.
Okay, so you've explained the role claim bit, sorta, but I don't get this argument at all. Assuming you are town, for the sake of argument, why would scum be most amused by you?

That line of thought sort of meanders off into setup theories as well, but yeah, I just don't see it quite that way.

/shrug

Confess, am very sliiiightly miffed that you got me off of responding sequentially. Now I'm going to have to go back and re-read. I thought Trent was copying Sage's point b/c I was reading out of sequence, but Trent had made the point first before Sage made it and then Trent asked if anyone else had seen it.

I personally have not seen it, but I'm going to go record what Drealmer said onto vinyl so I can play it backwards and see if I can hear what they're hearing. Or seeing. Or whatever.
@ trent - while my pointing it out is similar to yours as you said. I write my post as I read the thread and make one post in stead of many small posts and dont accidentally double post that way; so what I wrote might be similar but I wrote it before seeing your post on it so it is still my own thought be-it similar to yours.

Understood, it's just harder for me to read and post like that since I am on my phone (such a pain in the ass most of the time to use gog on the phone) so when I see a post that looks like what I posted before hand it makes me wonder if it is just my thoughts being expressed by someone else trying to make them look like theirs.
not exactly sure what is going on there, but feel fairly confident saying sage + trent not w/w

@sage - appreciate the credit that was undeserved. ;) Second time that's happened this week. I hadn't read Trent's post yet.

That said, the whole "OMG that could be a slip!" reminds me of Drealmer's game where we squinted really hard and looked at it through a telescope to determine that maaaaaybe doc had slipped, and then town/scum collaborated to hammer babark over what doc might have meant by that particular word choice - "was it the really unlikely ominous version, or the more likely innocuous version? And if the latter, prove it!"

Just no. That was, confessedly, the same game where later some other nameless player tried to read way too much into something Trent said.

I don't recall who that was though.

what is w/w?

trentonlf: what is w/w?
wolf/wolf - aka scum teammates.

it's one way of sorting that gets used more on other sites than here. and it's a nice shorthand, as long as no one asks you to stop and explain it. ;)

I can't get Adalia Fundamentals installed - don't suppose we could get a vote count?

I've got AF installed on chrome and it's working as far as I know (uses it on Wednesday)

Any thoughts on where your vote sits atm? You were second, and now are cheese.

what's your opinion on cristi/dedo/doc?

Lifthrasil: I find intentional uselessness annoying, no matter whether I'm town or scum.
Hey, that's the same point I was making! We agree!

That said, I'm curious. You mention flub. Of flub/yogs (or throw in gamma for kicks) can you dissect for me why yogs specifically is drawing your vote vs. other options you could make same/similar arguments about. Do you feel confident you should be taking yogs 100% at face value?

For the record, I'm not interested in either flub/yogs at the moment, I'm just trying to understand why you're inclined to stand on this particular hill at this particular moment in time and how committed you are to it.
For the record, as to posting requirements, I'm just not being completely strict about it. Missing two consecutive days, given it's summer, doesn't concern me especially if there has been decent participation before that. Being mostly absent for a whole game day and not making up for it by the end of the day, does. Between that, there is room in the middle where I will use my discretion. Even someone regularly posting, but all the posts are "I'm still trying to catch up" is eligible for a prod or removal. If the game stagnates, the deadline might be moved up. Note that there is not a set deadline yet.

The short of it is that I will judge participation issues on a case-by-case basis with some expectation that availability could suffer in patches due to summer vacations. But I also don't have a problem with players using the pressure of their votes to push better participation either.

Current votes:
yogsloth - Lifthrasil
flubbucket - Bookwyrm627
HijacK - cristigale
drealmer7 - trentonlf

Not voting: drealmer7. GammaEmerald. HypersomniacLive, dedoporno. bler144, yogsloth, HijacK. docbear1975; Sage103082; flubbucket

Majority has not been reached.

Background note: You definitely get the sense that the "Community Leaders" are former mobsters who are very serious about lack of "imperial entanglements" in their retirements. This is a retirement community and mob-like activity is NOT tolerated. They had enough stress in life; they wish to enjoy what life is naturally left for them. You also get the sense that if they wanted you all dead, you all would be. They truly wish to remain as retired as possible.
Probably my last post for the night (til sunday, I suppose) unless someone else pops in soon. When I posted the last post wyrm's light was on - know that isn't always telling, but I'd hoped to rope him in.

Ironically the 4 people who have votes are the 4 people I'm least interested in atm.

Only modestly interesting, but cristi specifically commented her vote was RVS but left it out there. @cristi - whutup with that?

Can't filter, so if you've already addressed these my apologies. Any thoughts on Sage so far/after your exchange? Thoughts on HSL? Thoughts on Hijack?
