yogsloth: I have no idea how many hours I put into Morrowind, back in that long-ago era known as the "BK" days...
I thought BKs were British Knights!!! I tried playing Morrowind way back when the first GOTY edition was released. I put 30 hours into it and was bored I THINK every single minute of those 30hrs, and so I stopped.

Bookwyrm627: If you wait to finish Morrowind before playing something else, have a nice life and I hope you live a long time. I finally put it down when I was level 52, having "explored" half the island (read: "had it highlighted on my map because I ran/flew through the square on my way elsewhere") because I wanted to actually play something different. I two shotted the final boss.
Funny story: that same character was the one that lost a knife fight against an unarmed peasant while at the beginning of the game.
I hate people that fight with fists. I don't know who though it was a good idea to have your character fall down when they run out of fatigue. By that point the battle is pretty much lost even if you have full health, you just keep going up and down like a yo-yo, because the standing animation is so darn slow they knock you down before you can do a thing. This is all at level 3 though. Funny story: that same character was the one that lost a knife fight against an unarmed peasant while at the beginning of the game.
Besides, I don't intend to do everything. I actually like following main quests in games.
I'll bet. I just won't ever sink that much time into a game.
Bookwyrm627: You know, I never did actually play any of the expansion content (except for killing the assassins that jump you while you sleep).
A friend lent me the GOTY edition CDs and the description on the back for Tribunal mentions "the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil" and on Bloodmoon "become a werewolf", so I'm sold on playing expansion content :P It sounds awesome.
-_-
I hate you all
Krypsyn: I killed Vivec. And when I say 'Vivec' I am referring to the city and everything in it, not just one guy.
At least that is how I remember it. After 'winning' I just killed everything I saw. Because I could. My magic items were so brokenly OP, I couldn't be damaged, iirc. This was the beta build, however, and I think they nerfed magic items a bit for release. I never bothered to play through the game again with the release version (anything I know of expansions and such is because I watched LPs of them at one point or another).

This just doesn't compute for me. I am not saying you are wrong (that would be silly), just, personally, these types of games are my bread and butter. I don't know how many hours I put into Morrowind, but I know I put 300+ hours into each of Oblivion (with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul mod), Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Fallout: New Vegas. In fact, to this day, Skyrim is the only game I '100%'ed'. What didn't 'click' for you, out of curiosity?

Ha! What do you think I modded the game for? Quick Casting + Restore Fatigue Ring = win.

There's a mod for Morrowind that apparently increase the scope of the areas in the game. Would you try that? Or did you satisfy your curiosity of Vvardenfell? What didn't 'click' for you, out of curiosity?

Bookwyrm627: Could you kill Sotha Sil and Almalexia? As far as I'm concerned, they're back stabbers and need to join Vivec.
yogsloth: Well... we're getting into spoiler territory now. :) I remember reading once that someone's plan for a replay was to systematically kill every creature he could find. Was that you, by any chance?

Besides, I don't intend to do everything. I actually like following main quests in games.
I think I went into the light house near the starting town, and the person inside saw me "steal" something. Fighting ensued, and I was using the "click as fast as possible" method of swinging while using a dagger. My dagger finally broke, the person beat my fatigue to zero, and then beat my health to zero. I had no clue what I'd done wrong, at that point. Besides, I don't intend to do everything. I actually like following main quests in games.
I played the GOTY edition too, and I didn't get to the expansion content because I made a point of putting the whole thing down before I'd finished the baseline main quest. I spent RL weeks just wandering around, exploring, looting the country side, talking to people, and so on. I didn't even get to some of the quests that are easy to find, like the Fighter/Thief/Mage guilds or joining a House. Just...so many things to do, monsters to kill, 0 weight poison potions to make and sell...

Correct. A permanent drain enchant. I think that was possible on weapons. I either had them both on one weapon, or a dual wielded weapons, each with one of the enchants.
That was one of the big changes in the release version, iirc, they got rid of those sorts of OP permanent enchants. They also got rid of an awesome Easter egg type thing just south of where you start. On a ledge, out of direct line of sight (would need levitate/fly to reach it), in a cave not far down the coast, I think there was a perma-invisibility item (or was it perma-fly, can't remember). That is a spoiler, but since it was taken out of the game, I don't feel bad about sharing ;).
