Bookwyrm is closest to lynch at L-2.

You have a deadline. It is currently set to 6:35 pm PST on Thursday, Mar 31.

trentonlf: The bad part is if we had lynched you Day 1 and you flipped town then we would be doing this same dance routine with CSPVG, and I hope this is not the bastard part bler was warning us about.
If we believed CSPVG day 1 then why would we lynch Bookwyrm who at worst considered paranoid or insane cop at that time?

So you think at worst Bookwyrm is either paranoid or insane? So the chance that Bookwyrm is scum is not bad but you? My comment you quoted above was not me saying I think Bookwyrm is town, my comment was me saying I hope this is not the bastard element Bler warned us about.

The fact that I'm choosing to believe CSPVG was not insane or paranoid has no bearing on bookwyrm's state of mind.
avatar
drealmer7: My post was pretty much going to detail exactly what has happened as it has happened. And the basis for it all was under the theory of bookwyrm being a mafia framer. I actually think he might have been trying to get lynched yesterday, but knew that if he didn't he could still play it off as a paranoid/insane/false-read-getting cop come D2, which is exactly what he's done.

However, there's no proof still and it is possible that CSPVG was really a framer (fact checkers?),
So you've got a case built against me based on the idea that I'm a Mafia Framer? And you suggest that CSPVG, where I was the driving force for the lynch, might have been a framer instead? And I'm framing people by giving Mafia results on Town players.

If I'm trying to get lynched, I'm putting in an awful lot of effort to do it.

avatar
trentonlf: It seems you are hinting at lynching Hunter to see if you are insane or paranoid. If Hunter is lynched and flips town all that really tells us is we probably lynched the wrong person on Day 1 and should have lynched you instead as two townies would be dead by us following your lead. If he flips mafia it means that possibly both of you were insane or paranoid and this game is all kinds of off centered.
I won't hint this time: one way to take a guess at my mental state is for me to investigate Hunter, and we lynch Hunter. Probably best if I investigated first, since I have no idea whether investigating a player after the flip would change my result (I could test this aspect by rereading CSPVG or JMich). If I get a Mafia read on Hunter and he flips town, then CSPVG and I didn't have the same mental state. If I get a Mafia read on Hunter and he flips Mafia, then I'm paranoid. If I get a Town read on Hunter and he flips Mafia, I'm insane (and CSPVG is either insane or naive).
I believe I mentioned "but it requires a lynch". And if I get a town read and he flips town, then I somehow need to be working with someone else per Bler's "Town will need to work together".

On another note: We've got a dead bulletproof Mafia traitor, but no sign of a kill by bullets. We have a guy that seems to prevent fire based kills, but no sign of a kill by bullets. We have two claims to the name Danny, Town Desk Cop, one confirmed and the other claimed after the first died.

We have a mod that warned us before the first sign up that he included at least one bastard element in the setup. And you are only starting to wonder whether the game is off centered? :P

If we have two town cops in this game I can't see both being insane/paranoid, it would be such a handicap to town. That means I would be against lynching Hunter to see if you are insane or paranoid, it's too much of a risk seeing how it looks like there's a possibility of multiple kills each night.

My feeling yesterday when CSPVG flipped town was that you played us, and I'm not sure that feeling has changed.
CSPVG would probably already be dead by now, since all indications would be that he was lying. And you're right, the cops aren't both paranoid.

avatar
RWarehall: I'm not buying it. Re-reading, I'm getting the feeling he's scum and was tipped off to the Double-voter power and used it early to establish town cred. He tried too hard for it. It also doesn't make sense for a cop to attempt to be the first confirmed town and make himself a scum target. Besides, is an actual non-vanilla role going to also have that?
That's interesting. How would I have been tipped off to the Double-voter power, unless scum had it too? For that matter, how would I be tipped off to the idea that it takes place on some post-game Day?

Additional question: how do you know only town have the long distance double voter power? And how do you know that only vanilla types would have that power?

I agree.

I also don't think it will require a lynch. Although that is the only 100% surety.

True. If I can time my investigation on a NK'd scum, that would work too.

Also, Flub, I'm looking, but I don't think I'm seeing.

I have seen something else, however.
I think it's a mistake to lynch Bookwyrm. I believe he is a cop, whether sane on paranoid, we don't know.

Unvote bookwyrm

After I went to bed last night I started contemplating what kind of medical facility are we in, and I think it's a mental ward. I think we should consider your plan.

1. Today we would need to do a no lynch
2. Tonight you would need to investigate Hunter
3. If I'm reading what you are saying you want to lynch Hunter tomorrow after your read tonight

If you read Hunter as mafia and he flips town it would prove you are insane or paranoid. We would still not know if you are one or the other without you doing another read to see if it came back as mafia or not. If you did another read it would lead us to suspect you are paranoid if it did come back mafia and your reads would be useless.

If you read Hunter as mafia and he flips mafia your reads would be randomized and useless as well.

If you read Hunter as town and he flips mafia that would prove your insane and we could just do the opposite of your reads. That's the best case scenario for us.

If you read Hunter as town and he flips town again your reads are randomized and useless.

The wiki states that randomized is considered a bastard role, but does not say insane or paranoid is a bastard role. If your results are randomized or paranoid we can't trust them. Insane we can work with.

If you read Hunter and he comes back as mafia I would hesitate to lynch him, but if you read Hunter and he comes back as town I would consider lynching him. I tend to lean toward you being insane or paranoid instead of your reads being randomized since I think we are in a medical ward that deals with mental issues.

Vote No Lynch

If you are scum in all this I applaud your performance.

trentonlf: 3. If I'm reading what you are saying you want to lynch Hunter tomorrow after your read tonight
I provided the "investigate/lynch Hunter" play as a way to pretty solidly test my mental state, not as my preferred course of action. I'm not advocating this play, in part because I suspect we don't have many Days left.

Lets say we No Lynch today. Kills are based on last nights occurances.
N2 ends with us down another 2 players, putting us at 6. D3, Lynch Hunter to go to 5, and N3 with 2 kills puts us at 3 players at the start of D4. Total. And we'll only have one original investigation from N4 to work with, assuming I'm one of the three players.

Alright, now that I've run the math, scratch that plan. If Hunter is town, then implementing it is almost certain to make us lose.

I'm pretty sure you've got some wires crossed here.

There are 5 options for my sanity: Sane (reads correct), Insane (reads flipped), Naive (reads Town), Paranoid (reads Scum (in some fashion)), and Random (reads dice, or some other rules are in place to determine my reads).

I've gotten two Mafia reads on Town players. Therefore, I'm not Sane, and I'm not Naive. My mental state is unknown, so don't lynch based solely on my reads.

There is only a 25% chance I'm Random (assuming 50% chance of Town read and 50% chance of Mafia read). Per above Deaths per Day count, we don't have time to try to confirm whether I'm Random (requires investigating and lynching Hunter, as well as a read of Town and a flip of Town). Discard this as unverifiable.

If we investigate and lynch Hunter:
Town read + Town Hunter = I'm random
Town read + Mafia Hunter = I'm insane
Mafia read + Town Hunter = I'm still unknown
Mafia read + Mafia Hunter = I'm paranoid

While I wish I could claim an acting credit, the truth can be stranger than fiction.
Are you serious? No lynch? There are 8 players left and we had 2 night kills last night. How many scum do you think we started with? I think 2.5. How many SKs? Looks like 1.

We got very lucky the Mafia appears to have taken out their own Traitor.

I don't see how waiting a night helps us at all. You are putting all your eggs in the basket that Hunter is scum, but no-lynching in order to find out if he is. So 4 people will die as we lynch one person in 2 days.

If the SK doesn't kill scum for us, or the scum kill the SK, we lose.

As to how Book would know about the Double-Voter? Why did he think we all would have the same trait? He seemed sure we did, didn't he? Uninformed town has no way of knowing what traits others have, but a tipped off scum might. He also implied he was Vanilla. Lynch All Liars!

Look at his post #43,
"I have a power: I can double vote, but only on a specific Day. Sadly, to reach that Day we'll have to have more Game Days than RL Days before Bler's 3 week estimate elapses. I'm not strictly vanilla."

How do I have my wires crossed? I said the same thing you did? And how are "we" going to investigate Hunter, you're the one who is suppose to be the cop?

So we should lynch today, who should we lynch in your opinion? What if we lynch a townie today and there are two more deaths tonight(with one probably being a townie), how will town fare tomorrow with 5 people alive.

Also, what kind of message are you sending to flub with this?:
"Also, Flub, I'm looking, but I don't think I'm seeing.

I have seen something else, however."

What have you seen? Are you going to continue to be coy about things like you were on day 1? Maybe I was right and you are playing us as scum, I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt but you are making it hard.
avatar
RWarehall: We got very lucky the Mafia appears to have taken out their own Traitor.
What leads you to that conclusion? I can think of at least two other possible explanations, including the hypothetical SK killing the traitor.

When did I say we all have the same double voting power? What would have tipped me off about town being double voters? And of course I implied I was vanilla. I was keeping a Cop role under cover!! Where's the lie, RW? I'm not strictly vanilla!

Vote RW.

Lets see if your lack of double voting is indicative of something. I certainly don't like your word twisting.
