Nice game to read. Though I must be dense, can't see what the heck Dedo's bluff was... he lied about what now? o_0

tracking Dessimu and revealing Dessimu as the doctor.

@yogs I can live with being outplayed, was a smart move on Dedo, Dessimu, and Hunter the way they played it. I still think Mafia needed more than a role cop though.

He switched hunter and Dessimu in his big reveal post.

He knew hunter was the doc and dessimu the vanilla, and switched them, and gave them both big fat clues on why he did it and what they should do, without ever coming right out and saying it directly in a way that scum could understand.

bler144: @Trent - I can't disagree that the role balance was a bit in town's favor. 1-shot something for scum, perhaps.
I'm not so sure it was as unbalanced as all that. The SK went down immediately (with no adverse effect on town) and the mafia didn't NK town power role(s) (haven't finished the mafia thread yet, so I don't know the full reasoning). Town probably would have lost if any of the blocked kills made it through.

On the flip side, Mafia had a dang good Day game. As will be apparent in the dead thread, several of us were ready to lynch town power roles for being suspicious.

Edit: To be clear: I'm not saying the power role distribution was fine, I'm saying I'm simply not sure.

He managed to get two other townies to work with him in a con to make scum think the town doctor was vanilla, and a town vanilla was the doctor.

It's a fair criticism. I debated on what to do there, of course, but in the end, it was a call to make and I made it to de-power Scum team a bit, as I felt they would be overpowered compared to Town with more. But that's only one man's opinion, and I realize not everyone will quite share it. I do think the way it played out justified my decision, but it's fair game to challenge it.

And although everyone has been fairly kind thus far, it's also fair to point out the myriad of flavor mistakes I made.

I mean, I flat-out gave dedo the wrong read the first night. Just a complete brain fart on my part. Horrendous. I wanted to crawl under a rock.

Also, it was incredibly stupid of me to start with the Cop and Role Cop not leaving their offices to investigate. In a game with a tracker, how the hell does that make sense? I always planned for the Doctor to use the college boys, but after HSL pointed out to me the fallacy of an immobile role cop, I had to make flub start moving... and added Vitek to the game to "move" for HSL.
I gotta say....I wasn't following the actual actions of the game very closely, but MAN ALIVE! Yogsy, that was some AMAZING story work you had going there! I kept lurking on the thread mainly to see your posts about what actions had taken place and was loving it. And then I see the PM thing and that's even more brilliant.
Quite commendable of you to put all this effort into not only the game, but the whole setting of the game, making it highly enjoyable just to read.

You got to read his LOTR inspired one then... :)

Edit: Thanks all, I rered Dedo's 707 post and I get it now.

Kudos Dedo, proving town sometimes can or even should lie is quite a feat. ;) Rereading the posts where you are thinking what to do after getting the revised PM from yogs is fun when the inside baseball is understood.

I'm off to read the Mafia thread... should be interesting.

I am sorry for the squirrels.
Yog made me do it.

dedoporno: @Trent, don't get too sour, my friend. This was by far the best mafia play I've experienced so far where Town actually didn't do that much idiotic stuff. Good job!
Not sour, was thinking incorrectly on the roles.
Very nice play on your part. My choice for the NK last night would have been flub or Hunter if you had not done what you did.
That was a lot of fun to watch go down!!!!!!!!! To me, it's the most exciting game I've been a part of. I just couldn't tell which way it was going to fall! Thanks yogs! Well done EVERYone!!! Except me!

I'm very much looking forward to reading all the flavor and scumchat!

Absolutely! Unlike others I firmly believe even Town truth can be flexible and in some cases, if there is a great potential benefit for Town, one shouldn't be afraid to use it as a tool.

Not true. You got a bunch of stuff right on your own and even before everyone else on D1.
So THAT'S how you developed Hunter's name! Yeah, I wouldn't have figured that out any time soon. Or probably at all.
Well played everyone, and thank you for hosting the game, yogsloth.

Hehe, thanks!

I figure if I call 10/13 people scum, I'm bound to get some right! If I throw out a bunch of complex wild theories, part of at least 1 of them is bound to be right! It's not like I actually thought there was going to be a man dressed up as a woman for ANY reason at all!

I was pretty confident I got a good scum-feel from HSL, though. He baited me in just a subtle way that I knew he was mis-representing me on purpose (confirmed in scum-chat), and I didn't express well enough how I saw it. I thought dedo had done the same thing, and even thought he had a a scum power role because of it, so stayed focused on him way too hard.

btw drealmer, go back into the observer thread and check out your post I marked as a "scoresheet". :)

HSL is still pinging scum hard for me, and dedo has done nothing to remove my suspicion. They are my top 2 still, with a handful of other possibilities: trent, bler, hunter, cristi.

Setup ideas:

3 mafia + 1 SK + 9town w/3 power roles.

If 3 mafia, they have 1 power role and 1 of the town power-roles is quite strong.
