The "why" would be obvious at that point; refusal to claim.

Well, if it was from back in 2001, I'd probably not remember, but this was pretty recently, and quite the stance, imho.
As for the link - we can all thank adaliabooks who made it easy to dig up links, even his own. ;-)

yogsloth: Corrected vote count:
Leonard 6: krypsyn, yogsloth, trentonlf, Ixam, adaliabooks, cristigale
adaliabooks 2: drealmer, bler144
yogsloth 1: flubbucket
Looking at that, and amidst everything that has happened, I'm curious if Flub will clarify why his vote is on yogs at this point. Leonard 6: krypsyn, yogsloth, trentonlf, Ixam, adaliabooks, cristigale
adaliabooks 2: drealmer, bler144
yogsloth 1: flubbucket
Which is not to say I'm proposing any specific alternative, it's really that simple: Flub, as of this time, what's the case for yogs over "the field"?
From the outside it looks like a cozy place to camp out without actually having to, y'know, do anything other than idly suggest maybe hammering that wagon or something. And apparently for something he would do himself in the same scenario.

OK, back to adaliabooks, because I noticed something when re-reading.
I'm inclined to believe that he refuses to answer some of the questions I had asked him in my post #750, as he ignored my follow up request in my post #785. He's also refused to answer bler144's question about that "plain ol' mafia" he said in his post #697. And as expected, he's feeling pretty comfortable now that the attention has shifted away from him, more so as it looks like someone else is going to join P1na and JMich.
So, here's what I noticed [emphasis added at various points].
In his reply to me (post ) he first tried to present his block/jail as a scum one:
If it's a genuine block by town then why haven't they claimed it?
He followed up on it in his reply to dedoporno (post [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/forum_mafia_32_booze_blood_and_bullets_the_prohibition/post670]#670):
A bit later he jumps into the "why was HijacK blocked rather than killed?" (sub)discussion between Bookwyrm627 and dedoporno, to point at something dedoporno apparently overlooked (post #678):
He goes on to add something else to this argument (post #683):
And finally, we have post #717:
HijacK was more likely jailed by town to be protected, because there's no claim of the action.
Yet, the flavour of the two actions is almost identical. Of course, after arguing in favour of the Jailer, he now puts the disclaimer of "at least blocked, whatever that says about his alignment" - but then, the latter part also applies to his own alignment.
Can he have it both ways? I think not.
As for my theory, it's actually quite simple.
adaliabooks claimed two things in relation to yogsloth's soft-claim, if he was scum:
- He and his buddies would let JMich flip.
- yogsloth would have been already dead.
I asked him two questions regarding these statements, but got no answer.
adaliabooks said on several occasions that he thinks yogsloth's more likely to be town (posts #375, #430, and #502). In his post #375 he said:
Would mafia-adaliabooks and his buddies risk attempting to NK someone they thought could be a PGO? I think not.
But how could they make sure yogsloth wasn't one? NK JMich, clean up his body, then pressure yogsloth to claim Coroner, by demanding instant results. If yogsloth didn't claim, then perhaps someone else would claim the role, and then they'd be able to take the Coroner out, whoever he is, and try to frame yogsloth for the D3 lynch. As dedoporno said, the Coroner, based on how the role works (yes, I insist on this), becomes a threat to mafia N2 onwards.
I think adaliabooks knew he couldn't get yogsloth's lynched D2, if he thought he'd succeed, they'd let JMich flip.
Mind you this is all based on adalibooks being scum and his take on yogsloth which doesn't seem to have changed since D1. Myself I'm still debating yogsloth, as his play could be of either side, I'm keeping an eye on him for now.
adaliabooks on the other hand, rings all sorts of bells he did in previous games he was scum, particularly RW's game, perhaps a little bit more refined (I suppose that comes with experience).
Looking over the posts of adaliabooks and Leonard03, I'm with bler144, and rather take adaliabooks, but Leonard03's not out of the frame.
We still have time to discuss our options, so thoughts?

Town are generally not shy about claiming roles. So I have to wonder why they're holding back now, and come to the conclusion that it's because I was blocked by scum.
Because if he was blocked by scum, that would have to mean he's town. Notice the use of the term block, as Roleblocker is traditionally a mafia role. A bit later he jumps into the "why was HijacK blocked rather than killed?" (sub)discussion between Bookwyrm627 and dedoporno, to point at something dedoporno apparently overlooked (post #678):
What if HijacK wasn't blocked, but Jailed?
If someone thought he was more likely to die then they could have jailed him to protect him, which makes perfect sense.
A Jailer, a traditionally town role, may have jailed HijacK to protect him. On a side note, there's some intimation that HijacK's also town. If someone thought he was more likely to die then they could have jailed him to protect him, which makes perfect sense.
He goes on to add something else to this argument (post #683):
I suspect they probably are town as it makes little sense for scum to do so (without claiming the action anyway)
I'm not entirely sure where the part in parenthesis refers to - is it "they're probably town because they wouldn't claim the action", or "they're probably town because scum would claim it"? Either way, he seems to contradict himself about his own block. And finally, we have post #717:
I'd just like to point out that the flavour I received from lift is almost identical (bar the obvious paraphrasing), hence why I believe HijacK was at least blocked, whatever that says about his alignment.
So, he was more likely blocked by scum, because there's no claim of the action.

But yogs frequently gives me shit for my false claims, and by specifically mentioning he is not CPR Doctor it makes me think it's definitely one of mine, which only leaves PGO or Coroner and either is entirely possible.
I could be entirely wrong, but I think not.

HypersomniacLive: So, he was more likely blocked by scum, because there's no claim of the action.

I really have to applaud the effort you're going to to try and get me lynched, it's quite touching really. HijacK was more likely jailed by town to be protected, because there's no claim of the action.

Can he have it both ways? I think not.
But you have completely misunderstood my position here.
I would have expected town to claim a block on someone suspected of being scum (i.e. me), this is admittedly based on the trend of roles and actions being claimed pretty quickly in the last few games so I can see there is a flaw and the fact it has not been claimed probably means little in relation to me as a town roleblocker / jailer may just wish to remain anonymous to protect themselves. I accept that.
My point about HijacK is that scum are not going to protect a target who has been specified by the mod to be easier to kill, without claiming to have done so. What's the point in pretending to be town if no one knows?
Therefore, if you assume HijacK was jailed for protection, the fact no one has claimed it leans more towards it being an action by town rather than scum trying to appear town.
But really nice try to make it more than that. Bravo.
HypersomniacLive: As for my theory, it's actually quite simple.

Despite what you think I have tried to answer all your questions so I'm not sure which I've missed... I'm inferring from the rest of your post that one of them was my current thoughts on yog. adaliabooks claimed two things in relation to yogsloth's soft-claim, if he was scum:
- He and his buddies would let JMich flip.
- yogsloth would have been already dead.
I asked him two questions regarding these statements, but got no answer.
As of now, currently not so confident of my read of him being town as his latest twists and turns are looking more like his convoluted scum plots.
HypersomniacLive: adaliabooks said on several occasions that he thinks yogsloth's more likely to be town (posts #375, #430, and #502). In his post #375 he said:

As dedoporno said, the Coroner, based on how the role works (yes, I insist on this), becomes a threat to mafia N2 onwards.
Seriously Hyper, you're being purposely dense here. If I was scum and me team had a Janitor, why the hell would we think yogs was a PGO? How can scum (having a Janitor, which is pretty clear giving JMich's non flip) not know that yogs (assuming he isn't one of them) is the Coroner? So, adaliabooks went into N1 thinking that yogsloth's quite likely either Coroner or PGO.
Me trying to pressure yogs into claiming makes no sense. If scum wanted him dead, they would have killed him. They will have already known from his hints and their own roles what his role is. They wouldn't have needed to push him to claim.
I just assumed (incorrectly as it turned out) that yogs might have received the flip info immediately and expected it might be shared. Or at the very least, that with the extra evidence provided by JMich not flipping, he would finish the claim he started day 1. I don't know about anyone else, but to me that would be the town thing to do. The fact he hasn't is making him slip down my scale of town players.

Where? I was looking to find the first mention of it this game.
Good thanks, yourself?
(I did it! Ha ha ha! The power!)
-_- No
Oh snap! What Ix gonna do, he said he would switch to you, but my wagons a rollin'!
Well it is sure nice for a change to see someone give reasons for their vote.
Stay tuned.
Hey! We're both online right now! But it's 4:30 (p.m.) here, hopefully that doesn't mean you are awake at some ungodly hour.
2) How do you know that I might ask, without being scum yourself?
3) O.o
4) Probably P1na? What? Why? Do you know it was legit? Maybe you could share that with us? And if you don't than why the heck are you so sure? In fact, thinking about it, maybe it's not true and he wasn't scum after all. In which case I was right all along.
My vote was not certain to leads us to a No-Lynch, at least I did not think it was. That last is just not true, I want to end the day with a vote on the person who I find the scummiest.
I do have things to say to whats going on! Ok, I don't have a finger in every pie, but I do contribute where I see something. Hmph, you are one to talk about taking time to cast a vote. Though I won't deny I take a little while.
When I say "I haven't seen anything that pings my scum meter" I'm saying I have not seen any slips that make me almost certain someone is scum. It doesn't mean there aren't little things.
I'm not holding anything back. If you want to see something similiar to what's happening right now, check Vitek's game. I'll bet I played pretty similarly then.
I don't think it's fair to give me trouble for not bringing enough discussion. What about flub? He has spent most of the game saying how terrible yogs is. Are you really saying I've done less than him? Have I posted tons of new ideas? No, but if you expect me too you will be disappointed.
Also, quite funny I just did it again, replying to you post in depth. That's kinda funny.
Why why why do we you guys like to talk in riddles so much.
I'm just gonna put it out there that I would have been eaten by Gollum.
Still there flub?
Here we go!
I'm the town jailer ya'll. I locked up HijacK last night. My reasoning was that it was seemed likely that he was at in some sort of danger from the prod so if he was town, no harm in a little extra protection. And if he was scum, then he would be blocked. Win -win.
Leonard03: Doesn't help us too much here because every man and the dog have said they think I'm scummy.
HijacK: Uhm... Hello! How are you? adaliabooks: Not sure what to make of Leonard. I can't quite tell whether he reminds me of his play as a neutral in yogs game or not.
But I do think he will flip (if possibly not scum) anti town.
A little bit leery of the speed wagon, but that does appear to be how we role here in the Shire...
Anyway, while it's probably going to look like an attempt to save my own ass;
Vote Leonard03
Heh. But I do think he will flip (if possibly not scum) anti town.
A little bit leery of the speed wagon, but that does appear to be how we role here in the Shire...
Anyway, while it's probably going to look like an attempt to save my own ass;
Vote Leonard03
(I did it! Ha ha ha! The power!)
HijacK: Oh, I see adalia voted. Leonard should be at L-2 now. While I must say, I don't see him as scum, I am suspicious of him, but I'm not inclined to vote, even if the hammer place is open. There have been... what? 6 votes in 12 hours or so? Aaaaaannndddd while the case made against Leonard is strong, people who voted barely outlined their reasons, and those who made the strong cases are not voting. What kind of gibberish crepuscular zone is this?
It's nice to know somebody else sees suspicion in this. dedoporno: I'm pretty sure the original post by yog wasn't for you in particular but a bunch of people. Yet you responded almost immediately with "I'm not avoiding it." It just felt like "guilty conscience needs no accuser".
More like "I was online and saw a post directed (at least in part I thought) at me. So I replied. If you look at the other times were it's obvious I'm online and available I do the same thing. -_- No

1) There are two Scum teams. Bet your house.
2) They knew it from the start, and they won't bus each other.
3) BWWRVWLRL2ADIO (Hope that doesn't count as "crypto-claiming".)
4) DO NOT TRUST THE FLIPS. NONE OF THEM. (Except probably P1na, I think that was legit)
1) And yet later you say there is no evidence for it? Whaaat? 1) There are two Scum teams. Bet your house.
2) They knew it from the start, and they won't bus each other.
3) BWWRVWLRL2ADIO (Hope that doesn't count as "crypto-claiming".)

cristigale: However, I don’t agree that Leonard’s wagon will be a bust. If Leonard flips town, I expect we’ll find scum in the speedy wagon.
What is stopping us from doing that now? HypersomniacLive: dedoporno already covered the first thing pretty well in his post #850. It was the quickness and eagerness with which you jumped in after yogsloth made that comment that caught my eye (I had just gotten back on at the time), and made me point it out. You seem overly preoccupied with catching any fingers pointing to your direction, even when they're not specifically pointing at you.
Reply above. HypersomniacLive: For a vocal advocate of "Never ever have a No-Lynch", you seem strangely reluctant to get on wagons that secure this, but without raising any objections while they're forming even though you're watching carefully, and end up casting votes that are certain to lead us to No-Lynch, because you won't vote until the deadline approaches, yet it's important to be on record for having voted. Now, why does this look like you're more preoccupied with being on record as voting someone by the end of the Day (which you don't even deny) than actually helping us find and lynch a scum?
"Without raising any objections while they are forming" - You must be kidding. My vote was not certain to leads us to a No-Lynch, at least I did not think it was. That last is just not true, I want to end the day with a vote on the person who I find the scummiest.
HypersomniacLive: Even now you say "Everyday we need to lynch someone, if we don't, we will lose. So by the end of the day I want to have placed a vote".
I find the choice of wording quite interesting - "lynch someone", not lynch the scummiest we can agree upon, just someone, anyone, as if the lynchee's alignment is irrelevant to town's win. I guess that if you're scum, anyone will do though, so long as their not one of your scum-buddies, that is.
What I meant is that at the end of the day if there is not a person being lynched, there is no possible way for us to win.
HypersomniacLive: Moving on to the rest of your reply. You are watching carefully. Because you don't want your vote to be useless. Yet you need a re-read to see "where your vote is going to end up". But you also are very busy and don't have much time.
So, when exactly are you doing this "watching carefully"? And what does it entail? if you're watching carefully, why do you seem to have nth to say on what's going on? Why does it take you so long to decide who to vote? Or are you watching carefully those that don't ping your scum-dar, so have to do some catching up to make a case against someone to place a vote?
Even now you say "I haven't seen anything that pings my scum meter". For someone watching carefully, that's pretty amazing, to say the least. Perhaps, bler144 was right. It took a lot of pressuring and pushing you to get that "Some people know something", and a related post to Bookwyrm627 out of you.
So, I have to wonder - why and what are you holding back? In the game we were both in, you were more forthcoming, stating your view on things and people. And this is what I meant with "more involved". You don't have to post walls of text, nor post a dozen times a day, but I'd expect you to bring something to the discussion if you're town and watching carefully and looking for slips.
That's because I have suspects, but I need to figure out which one I should vote for. I don't have a lot of time either, and I spend a lot of it responding point by point to you. You should be very happy! :P So, when exactly are you doing this "watching carefully"? And what does it entail? if you're watching carefully, why do you seem to have nth to say on what's going on?
HypersomniacLive: As for your "talking to people" - please go back and re-read your own posts, then tell us what "talking to people" you've actually done that wasn't explaining and defending yourself, and served to find slips, mistakes, etc. Not counting jokes and such.
I've talked to people. And voiced my ideas and stuff. If you have re-read my and decided I haven't there isn't anything I can say that will really convince you otherwise is there? Also, quite funny I just did it again, replying to you post in depth. That's kinda funny.
adaliabooks: That vote at the end of day 1 seemed to serve a purpose beyond scum hunting or trying to lynch (can't say I understand what it was yet, distancing from flub maybe? Didn't really work as distancing from P1na if that's what he was attempting... or to try and derail his lynch), which suggests some other kind of agenda.
So it wasn't scum hunting, it wasn't distancing, it wasn't derailing, it was some other agenda. I beg to ask what the heck else I could be doing.
Win -win.
