trentonlf: At a later point in the game it's inevitable that someone with a power role will need to reveal that because of knowledge they need to share, but why on earth would you do it on day 1 unless you are scum trying to put up a smoke screen of LAMIST because if you're not scum all it does is give scum a chance to kill a power role.
By itself the claim wouldn't have made me vote for him. Though I voted for him prior in any case.
After all, he may not have a great role and he may conceive drawing fire as a good play for town. Plus it can be WIFOMed like crazy - It may draw protection, just maybe he is bulletproof, etc. etc. etc.
Thus, while I'm not at all surprised you voted for him, and it would have raised my eyebrow if you hadn't, frankly, that alone doesn't strike me as a compelling reason to vote by itself. But then, it's not my personal pet peeve.
My concern is really the 'entire package' of what he was doing in those first 24 hours, and particularly that short span. Though I do get the sense that it's possible his soft claim as a follow-up to my vote was something of a non-game peace offering (admittedly that response is likewise something of a non-game response and most people may have no idea what I'm talking about), and that even if he anticipated your vote he probably wasn't concerned about it.
Forgetting all this, and that the real downside of his gambit is that "this" is still pretty much the only thing on the table, for a moment, is there anything/anyone else at all that has your attention/curiosity so far? Flub/Leonard/Adalia/Ix/me/Wyrn/etc.? Concerns we're moving too fast/too slow?
I suppose that's not just for Trent but for anyone.
HypersomniacLive: Need to catch up, but had a big dinner with some friends earlier, and feeling a bit sleepy - but it was worth it!
So, sorry yogsloth, confrontations are bad for digestion.
Given your stated distaste, IIRC, I feel fairly certain you didn't order the hot dogs.
