@drealmer7: why do you constantly mention that you are new and a stranger? and i read some more of your post, you are crazy and have serious problems with people skills. WHY? Some people have mentioned that it could be aliens that have infected us and taken over some people's bodies. Perhaps this has happened to you? Completely explains your lack of people skills.

@kryspyn: interesting.
avatar
drealmer7: Fair enough. If you have any questions you think make sense to ask everyone or of anyone specifically, feel free to ask.
avatar
Krypsyn: Sure. Why do you feel you need to get Crewdroog on board with voting for Vitek before casting your own vote?

(It is still a little boring, but at least it is closer to the 'right' sort of question.)
I don't feel the "need." At all. I was more asking for their opinion of the position. The casting of my vote is in no way, nor will it ever be, dependent on someone else's position. I will make my own judgment. When the time comes.

To further elaborate to JMich:

It would also seem to me that position of authority in a crisis situation such as this, where no one knows who to trust, is almost irrelevant. For all I know, anyone wearing a supposed uniform of a certain position killed whomever they got it from and put it on themselves or it was provided to them as part of the intruder plot that we are all facing. We must therefor make all discussions and votes based on what we DO know, not what we don't.

Well, I re-iterated it because it seemed to have been missed, not for any other reason. I didn't mean to be constantly mentioning it (I will say that re-reading logs can be confusing at times at the flow of how things went in the past.) It's mostly irrelevant, as we're all apparently strangers here. I admit, I lost it for a few minutes, but that was fleeting and, other than then, I don't believe I've exhibited any signs of craziness, have I? Please, point them out more directly if so and I can hopefully explain myself.

Oh, then what is holding you up on placing your vote? You already said you were leaning that way, and it isn't not as if you can't move your vote if you change your mind in the future. You make it seem like you wanted consensus before sticking your neck out. If you don't need consensus, then you should vote for the person you are leaning the most towards as scum, and if you do want consensus before doing such, I would like to know why.
@dreamler7: what is your deal with Vtek? Seems you really started plugging for him only after he voted for you. Yeah, he jumped on the yogsloth bandwagon, but a lot of people did. And like Kryspyn mentioned, why ARE you asking for my vote? That is totally making me seem scummy. wtf?

Crewdroog: That is totally making me seem scummy. wtf?
Nope.
oh and i want to apologize in advance for my spelling people's names wrong. I don't do it intentionally. sorry Vitek and Krypsyn. I am sure I will do it again to everyone at some point. Just smile and nod and think, "idiot" ;)

Crewdroog: oh and i want to apologize in advance for my spelling people's names wrong.
It troubles me not at all, as long as I can figure out to whom you are referring.

About time you voted, but he isn't in this game. Shame though, adalaibooks is nearly as safe a bet as I am to be scum in these games. :P

Crewdroog: @carioncrow: no. Why?
I just like the visual, honestly. =)

and all this nice talk isn't making me forget anything *stares and points furiously*

*bounces away on a pogo stick*
I am pretty sure at least one of Crewdroog and drealmer7 is scum. I will not be party to lynching either one this Day.
I have a little time now, so I’m going to try and add something a little better.

Crewdroog: @Yogsloth: is it common for you to blab information? if so, that is scummy. Perhaps trentonlf is right. and were doing it to get some info out of us? would be an easy thing, especially with new people.
Well, I might take offense to the term “blab”, but yes it’s quite common for me to get people to start comparing information. I can’t stand RVS. While it’s occasionally humorous, for the most part, it’s just boring. The longer it drags the more people lose interest. How much can you talk about breakfast cereal or buttpickles or Shia Laboof before people just wander away? I very much like to play the “meat and potatoes” of the game, and I very much like to win, and that involves getting people to talk and react. You have to start somewhere, and unfortunately for those who just Tourette’s bark “SCUM” at any mention of a PM, that’s the only place. What do I know that you don’t? What do you know that I don’t? It’s a giant puzzle, and it fits together in a certain way, and the one thing the bad guys have to deal with is that they don’t fit. We just finished a game where Town was able to add just enough information in Day 1 to correctly identify how Scum didn’t fit, without giving them enough information to successfully fake it. To me, the real fun is the sleuthing. Not every game is going to go as perfectly as the last one, but you have to at least give it a try.

But guess what? You know who I’m not going to be after Today, unless something interesting changes? trentonlf and Krypsyn. drealmer7, pay attention here, it will help you. I’m the guy that was getting chucked under the bus, but it didn’t harsh my mellow, because there are so many nuances in play here.

I never got the chance to analyze a wagon as I promised last game because, you know, adalia smashed my face in with a crowbar and stuffed me in a dryer… but I can do a little on my own wagon Today.

1: trentonlf votes #12. We’ve played lots of games together and it’s clear trent follows a strict “LAY” (Lynch All Yogs) policy. He always votes for me in the first six minutes. I wouldn’t know where I was if he didn’t. It’s his policy to vote for those who reveal anything in a PM, no matter how helpful to Town it ends up being. So be it. He also unvotes later. Verdict: entirely consistent with his meta. No threats detected.

2: Krypsn votes #20. RVS vote left over from me lynching him over and over again. :)

3: Krypsn votes #30. Ten whole posts later, he re-votes, just to let you know he’s serious this time. No explanation though. I’ve played enough with him to also believe this is consistent behavior from him, and I can even make a reasonable guess why he voted, although I doubt it’s solely the actual line he quoted in this post. I’m trying not to be brain-dead LAMIST here, but this vote isn’t going to stick for various reasons, I don’t really blame him for it or have an OMGUS response, and it ultimately seems pro-Town enough for me to not react harshly.

4: Vitek votes #66. Another RVS vote (although he later does note that I do not ever vote RVS, which is true, other than my very first game when I was just following protocol and trying not to mess up). I’m not very concerned about this vote, either.

5: Ix votes #125. Now this one stinks, and welcome to your first healthy glass of WIFOM. Ix jumps on at the 4th position in a (relatively) meaningless wagon that is nevertheless at full roll… for no real reason whatsoever. He declines to give any further explanation. Scum trying to see if the wagon will fly? Town seeing what other reactions he can provoke? I don’t know either, but all I can give this one is “worth watching”.

6: Vitek votes #163. Again. This seems like a deliberate attempt to provoke a reaction… but not from me. I actually approve of this vote… for the most part, lol. It’s part of the gentle push-and-pull to see who reacts to what… and who doesn’t react. And it’s working, isn’t it? Vitek is essentially at neutral position to me, but he’s helping the cause more than hurting, and that’s good news, especially given that I’ve been unable to provoke much myself this time around.

None of these people get a free pass, but none of them give a big ping on the Scumdar either.

I think this game setup is great so far. I would guess there are going to be some real twists in it, and just like so many other games, I think the key to winning is going to be figuring out the background mechanics (but not the story as much as drealmer is trying to go that way) and how it all works. The way to win is always to force the bad guys to lie as soon as possible, and you can’t do that without forcing them to talk. As I chew on it, it’s probably going to take until Day 2 when we will have enough info to feel comfortable with, though. There wasn’t enough time for a Night Zero. So for now, we just keep gently pushing each other to see what spills out.

There are certainly some players I want to hear more from. We have no deadline yet, so those players who prefer to play by not playing can coast along for a while yet.
@yogsloth Good post.

I sooner ask, why are others so quick to cast a vote with no/hardly no reason? I don't feel like I'm "holding up" my decision when there isn't much reason to jump to a decision yet. Make sense?

I'm not wanting consensus, if I wanted that I would have said "I'd like to come to a consensus." I don't know what's sort hard to understand about wanting a bit of discussion before just willy-nilly voting with no talking about who or why or anything else.

To me, Vitek's reason for jumping onto yogsloth seemed like it was a distraction for a real reason he was jumping on to yogsloth (that he had determined that the previous voters for yogsloth were also intruders, and he was trying to get a ninja-lynch for others to jump on too before we realized what happened and we voted a crew-member elminated.) It seemed more than just an arbitrary band-wagon jump, it seemed, to me, quite intruder-like. My suspicion of him grew from there for varying reasons, before he even mentioned me, and then, the way and in the context with which he voted for me, makes me feel he is quite more likely to be an intruder. Again, I also realize I could be completely wrong and his actions are more out of fear than maliciousness, and I'm reserving judgement for now. Vitek is free to talk about his actions and explain himself and try to help me believe he is not an intruder, I welcome it.

I wasn't asking for your vote, I was asking what you thought about the level of supposed guilt of some of these people in this room, and, if you felt solid enough about ANY of them yet to cast a vote. That is not me asking you to vote, and I'm sorry it seemed that way or that is somehow made you feel intruder-like, I don't have that impression of you.
