dedoporno: I'm currently playing this :)
I tried playing it a few times. I love the game(and that intro), but I have trouble with open world games(too much choice at once "overloads" my mind). Still, someday I might finish it hopefully. :)

Microfish_1: As i understand, i get 2 tokens per turn. if I survive my first token, can i save 1 token for next turn and thus have 3 token next turn? or can my pockets only carry two tokens? :O
OP note to Micro and all: Each player starts the game with two tokens, and must play at least one token each time it's their turn. During the first round of player turns, since players start with two tokens, they can choose to pass their turn after spending their first token or spend their second one as well.

If a player spends all their tokens in any round(of player turns) and they neither fail nor win, thenthey are "frozen" until the next round, when they get an additional token so they can try again.

Players don't get additional tokens except when they run out of tokens during one of their turns....then they get one more token during the next round(of player turns), when their turn comes up again.

Definition clarification: A "round" is one time through the player list, with each player getting a turn to play.

(Examples to show how the game works a bit more: Player 1 starts with 2 tokens. They choose to spend both and get "token wasted" results both times. They are then frozen" until the next round, where they get one more token to try their luck again.

Player 2 starts with 2 tokens. They choose to spend one token, get a "token wasted" result, and then pass their turn. During the next round during their turn they get no extra tokens.)

Hope this clears things up a bit. :)

Microfish_1: Micro bomps over to the Physiciane's Office (Room 4, and wrinkles his nose at the light. He briefly glances at the Leg lamp on the desk but turns away and bomps over to the globe, wondering if there might be any clue as to where we all are. After all, that would influence what we try to scavenge....

Micro uses a token on the globe in room 4
also, are edits allowed or does it have to be a new post?
You always loved maps and globes and charts, and the one in the Lead Physiciane's office was one you always wanted to inspect a bit more(beyond a cursory glance, that is). So you head to his office and carefully approach the globe(lest there be any curses or evil beasties about).

You examine it, turn it a bit this way and that...and then you note something "odd": One of the continents has an extra "bit" added on. You reach out and touch it, causing it to depress inward with a click...then to your surprise the top half opens!

Inside you find a disc with a picture of the emergency exit painted on it on one side, and another image of you holding it next to the exit on the reverse side.

"Maybe it's one of them electronic lock key fob things" you think. Picking it up, you go over to the emergency exit and cautiously hold it out.

Nothing happens at first, and you are about to walk away in disappointment when the disc starts to glow. Suddenly you are in the staff parking lot, the sun shining & the birds chirping in the sky above.

You have been saved!
(Good End)

The other patients hear a weird sound, and then the same voice that has been teasing/taunting/tormenting them yells out "Noooooooo!"

"Micro might have bomped his best and escaped, but rest assured that I will make sure the rest of you won't be so lucky" the voice says, before fading once more.

No need for this one, and sadly it won't count...as you got a good end! :D

(OP note to all: You may edit your posts if you want...as per the rules :))

YAY!!!!
Also, what an unusual and ingenious hidey-hole!

Sorry to everyone else for making the eveil-overlordy-style-voice of our shared horsepital scream at you all. :( :(

It was a lot of fun, thank you @GH!! Good luck to the rest of you and we can meet up for burgers and fries when y'all get out laters!
Also, I adored that movie--almost as much as the books, and more than the 90s TV serials, though I loved those, too!

Microfish_1: YAY!!!!

It was actually inspired by the movie I linked above...specifically that same scene.
(plus other similar things in media i've seen over the years)

To be fair, it would've yelled at someone at some point anyways. :)

Well minus the puddle that was Lift and what remains of Dedo.
(they're ghosts, so I guess they can eat spectral burgers and fries? ;D)

I liked it too.....though I liked the movie's intro song somewhat less than the one from the tv series....it is just so dang epic.

joppo: Reporting in and ready to leave this hellhole!
Good, cuz it's now yer turn, friend. :)

Simply pick a set piece to spend your first token on from the map in the OP post(minus the ones chosen by other players, which are also listed in the same OP post) & we will see what fate has in store.

(You have around 24 hours, give or take a few hours....till about 8am EST on January 31st.....to spend your first token. If that is not enough time, lemme know here or via PM and I will see if I can arrange an extension)
Post edited January 30, 2021 by GymHenson
Alright. My turn.

Joppo stands up thinking about possible ways to exit the hospital. He had been called a paranoid before, and even committed to this hospital based on nothing but his insistence on the existence of a conspiracy by an evil cult to taint all sugar with an helium-based chemical that would eventually accumulate in one's body, making one's weight appear lower when standing on a scale and thus make us all grow fatter without noticing. Then the cultists would open clinics and hospitals under the guise of treating people for the obesity diseases they caused, but what they would actually do there is... well that's still a mystery he had to figure out.

But the people around did not listen to him. Instead they made fun and committed him to the hospital. And Joppo is not safe here. The cultists can reach him, he knows it; and they're angry that he's been trying to warn the populace. So it's time to escape this place.

"Well," he thought, "what they call paranoia is just me being observant and not trusting stuff at face value. These are my best tools to survive. For now I will stay away from the piano and any acid. I suppose I should start looking at stuff in safer areas first."

Use a token on the couch of room 2

joppo: Use a token on the couch of room 2
You go to check the couch in the daye roome, as you remember the staff sometimes lost things there(including keys) from time to time. Sadly, all you find is a good number of snacks...likely stashed there by one of the other patients for a rainy day.

"Well at least we won't go hungry for some time" you think to yourself, seeing all the snacks in the stash.

After checking to make sure there aren't any rogue sugar packets, you head back to the others to let them know about your find & also that the couch is safe.

Nothing happens
(token wasted)

"Patient 2-460-Joppo.....you didn't fall to one of my traps I see....but I have no doubt you will soon enough....it is only a matter of tyme, I think" The disembodied voice says to you, as you go to rejoin the others.

-

Well now Mr Joppo, since it is your first turn & you spent one token, you now have a choice to make: Spend your second token and take another chance.....or pass your turn to the next player in line.

So, what'll it be? :)

(Op note to Joppo: You have about 12 hours from now, give or take a few hours, to make your choice....as always, let me know if you need a time extension)
I will observe the other patients, just in case any of them is a cultist or is in cahoots with them.

Wait... what if this mysterious entity that trapped us is part of the conspiracy?

I will pass my turn for now.

Sounds like a plan, man.

joppo: I will observe the other patients, just in case any of them is a cultist or is in cahoots with them.

Wait... what if this mysterious entity that trapped us is part of the conspiracy?
A very quiet laugh can be heard echoing through the building....almost as if the entity possibly responsible for everyone's predicament is amused at something.

A sudden yet mild gust of wind blows through the building, ruffling the map on the wall of Room 1. Joppo and the other remaining patients go to examine it. At first it seems nothing has changed, but something still seems off.

Then it becomes apparent....your home now has a new name.

(Op note to Joppo/all: The map in post 1 has been changed re: the name of the setting in the upper right corner....gameplay is unaffected by this change)

A song also starts to play on the building's intercom No one seems to be shocked, considering what has gone on so far...well except for Joppo, who starts pacing and muttering to himself a bit for some reason.

Dogmaus: very curious of what happens now
What happens now is that it's now your turn... ....so, as Eminem would say, choose wisely :)

You know the drill by now I assume: you have 24 hours(give or take a few hours) from the time of this post.....till around 12 PM EST on January 31st, 2021.....to spend your first token(if you need more time let me know here or via PM).

(You may pick any "set piece" on the map in post 1 except those already chosen by other players previously...a list of which is also listed in that same post)

I wander in the almost empty institute, wary of the other internees. It's clear that it's every man for himself, or should I say every girl for herself in my case. I venture into the day room, that used to be my favourite spot of this miserable place. I liked to listen to one of the nurses playing the piano for us when she had some time left in her pause. I wonder where she is now, and all the others. Now I shiver at the sight of the instument that has gulped down that tormented soul and his whole body in front of my eyes. At least he has stopped suffering. I think...I hear voices in my head, of the other patients that have disappeared. Am I crazy? Of course I am, but not that kind of crazy. My attention moves to the crafts table. Maybe there will be something helpful for getting my ass out of here.

Dogmaus: Dogmaus uses one token on the crafts table in room 2
The op starts to wonder for a moment if the game truly is cursed o.0

-

You always liked making crafts at the crafts table & know well what items are within the crafts bins on said table, so you go there to see if you can find something of use....or at least maybe make something nice to take your mind off of things. Searching through the bins you find paper, markers, etc.....and then you luck upon pairs of scissors....safety, of course.

"Oh well...not gonna get out with these....maybe I can make some nice things" you say to yourself, as you sit down.

As you grab the scissors, however, they start to glow red and grow wycked sharpe. They then stab into your hands.....pinning you to the table. You cry out in fear and panic, and some of the others come to try and save you, but something prevents them from doing so. As the other patients either look on in horror or look away, the scissors cut you into smaller and smaller pieces....and eventually the pieces are so small that you disappear entirely....leaving only the crafts table and the crafts supply bins behind.

The other patients wisely choose to avoid that area after what happened.

You have failed
(Bad End)

"Poor Daugmaus.....was that really anything to get CUT UP over?" The disembodied voice says with a chuckle, before the room becomes silent once more.

-

OP's note to Dogmaus: Sorry that this had to happen to ya, friend. As with the other players who got fail results, you may continue to chat with the other players about things or roleplay as a ghost/etc if you wish.

(Lastly, I hope you enjoyed reading the game so far, and will continue to enjoy it. :))

And it's now yer turn.
(patients be dropping like flies, it seems)

As with the players who came before you: You have 24 hours(give or take a few hours) from the time of this post...till around 1 Pm EST, January 31st, 2021...to spend yer first token(If ye need more time, let me know and I will see about setting you up with an extension).

The list of all "set pieces" is in the map in the OP post, and the list of already used set pieces is in that same post. You may spend a token on any "set piece" that hasn't had a token used on it yet.

Eheh I "knew" something bad would come from that but curiosity killed the cat. It was a fun death. When you like gamebooks you like those as well. :)

ZFR: Check Desk in Physician's Office, please.
Going into the "hallowed ground" that is the office of the lead physiciane, you approach their desk. At several points in the past, you and your fellow patients had individual sessions or private chats here....and even now, with what's going on, you are hesitant to approach it....as if the man himself will appear to scold you about something or give you yet another time out.

"He's not here...it's safe" you repeat quietly to yourself, over and over like some sort of mantra, as you approach the desk....hoping that maybe the phone still works and you can call for help. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be working, and there are just boring papers & bric a brac on the desk and in the drawers. Pocketing some candies from a dish on the desk, you head back to the others.

Nothing Happens
(token wasted)

A messages appears on one of the blank papers on the desk as ZFR leaves to go back to the others: "Soon enough......I will get you all soon enough" it says, in bright red letters.

-

OP's note to ZFR: you now have the same choice that Joppo had earlier.....you may spend your second token and try again, or pass your turn to the next player in line & wait till the next round to go again. :)

(You have around 12 hours from now....give or take a few hours....to make your choice. If you need more time, let me know and I will try to arrange an extension)

Yeah, that's kind of a problem for me as well - I don't mind choices but I kind of "need" to do everything that's there to be done and if I don't it bothers me a bit. So it's annoying when things are exclusive to each other or if there is way too much to do. I've put the game on hold right now as I'm not in love with the gameplay and I've done a massive amount of quests already to the point where it started to feel like a chore. So I'm taking a break and have moved to Red Dead Redemption on which I have the last couple of missions to finish.
