FlockeSchnee: Is this your first time playing mafia/werewolf, or do you have some experience already?
Nope, I've played a few games of forum mafia here (never anywhere else though), but my last game was at least 5 years ago I think, probably more. And as far as I remember I never got very far. I think day 3 was usually the furthest I would go before getting lynched. So not a pro player by any metric ;)
mchack: yes. ok, you get town points from me for that. Scum wouldn't need to do that. Scum could just lean back and enjoy the end of day.
FarkyTheDog: But if they lean back too much then they appear more scummy. Aha!
Do they, though? From what I can see most pressure at the moment is on our most active player. And the less active ones simply don't answer questions and seem to get through with it.
mchack: So you were just saying Farky is town by analyzing his writing pattern or are you implying there's another player in this game you suspect is town? Please use simple words so even I can get it.
FarkyTheDog: Perhaps read posting#204?
sorry, that didn't help. post #204 is just some troll. I was asking about the bit I quoted from joppo's post #239 and specifically wanted to know if he was implying he and cat played with another player that is in this game that they analyzed the writing of and thought was town or if it was all about you. Just a bit stumped about the meaning of that quote and that's why I asked. nobody answered yet and it probably doesn't matter anyway but I like to understand what people are saying so I just asked.
mchack: now that we know the messenger is/was town are you still thinking that the prankster is town aswell? What do you think they were telling you?
Catventurer: Yes. I'm also fairly confident that it's someone that reads the thread and doesn't skim. I think they saw me saying that my cat hates forum time and did their prank as a way to say, "Please be distracted by all these cats that I'm giving you."
If you look at things objectively, people have been just hiding behind me all game. I need to be distracted by all those cats so that they will have no choice except to participate more and stop using me as a crutch.
hmm, sounds reasonable. I for one like it better when you are active, because it's more fun. We are playing this thing for fun after all, aren't we? Don't really think scum lurkers will become more active by you becoming less active. But what do I know. But I'm looking forward to the next prank whatever the alignment of the prankster is. It adds a bit of flavor to the game :)
Catventurer: I think that scum team has been using day chat to act like a hydra. Nobody on scum team posts anything here without running it past their teammates, which is not an illegal move due to them having Day Chat. I thought that Farky was acting as the main head so that his teammates could coast under the radar, but now I think that all three of them are doing it as a joint effort. It would explain a lot of the things.
Maybe, I wouldn't overestimate them, though. They aren't superhuman just because they are scum. They are just as human as the townies. The last time I remember playing scum, that daychat wasn't very helpful at all. People weren't posting very much at all. Depends on who's scum I guess, inactive scum will probably be just as inactive in the daychat. posting is work and having two chats to fill is just twice the work ;)
FlockeSchnee: I read the OP two times now and I still can’t find, where it says votes have to be bolded. Apparently, I went kind of blind.
Hehe, I think you just found a bug in the rules section. Lift seems to have forgotten to state that votes need to be bolded, but I think it's understood because this has always been the case in gog forum mafia games.
Tl;dr:
Nothing new from me just answering questions and commenting. Still waiting for Joppo to react to my voting to investigate him. You out there?
And also waiting for a lifesign of yogs. The less you make me laugh, the less likely I'll be to keep thinking you probably must be town.
