I always hated them for not releasing the Linux version on GOG. Good riddance.

Once again, GOG's marketing has done a stellar job at advertising titles that this is one of those times where a game is leaving the store and I have to actually go look it up.
And this isn't some obscure title, For the King appears to have a generally large audience and a stellar reputation.

Alexim: (...) To those interested in the game, I confirm that it has no DRM, the bug was created because they had released an update on GOG taken from Steam without the proper checks. The next update fixed the problem.

Was it the drm? If so, you more or less showed it wasn't intentional.
Is it because they're leaving? If so lemme ask: should a dev(in general, not this one specifically) stick around if they're not making profit or losing money?

General musing(this is not about the users replied to in this post): so many overly entitled gamers these days, it seems.
No, I don't mean those with reasonable complaints, but the ones who seem to think gaming companies should bend over backwards and/or bow down to the customer else they're uncaring/evil/etc.

You're right, Iron Oak Games may have had to suffer a publisher decision, but they did nothing to communicate this decision, when a simple press release would have sufficed to at least explain their reasons.

Because as I wrote above they left without even a statement, a message, to explain to their GOG customers the reasons for their decision. All this shows cowardice, if not total disregard for those who have purchased their products on this platform, that will remain forever with an incomplete product, and since they got their money, I have the absolute right to criticize these behaviors.

Read Post 24....they might not be legally able to do so. Knowing this, I ask: do you think they should do things that might get them in legal hot water just to make customers feel a bit better?
(sidenote: I didn't say people can't or shouldn't criticize things[in fact I think due criticism should be levied when/where needed].....I just feel that people[in general, I mean] shouldn't throw blame around too readily...especially without checking all the facts/info behind something first)

Does anyone know...
... do games often de-list from Steam?
I'm sure some do since EGS got into the game.
Yeah, this whole situation sucks. I've played the base game on PS4 and really wanted to purchase it here to play. Just a week ago I was asking around about the dlc release... and now the game's gone...

Probably not the entire list, but here's a start: https://delistedgames.com/all-delisted-steam-games/ ... do games often de-list from Steam?

n = 466 games delisted (including relistings)
Oldest = Nosgoth - Apr 8, 2016
Newest = Afterfall InSanity - May 26, 2021
Δt = 1874 days
λ = 0.249 games delisted / day OR 1 game delisted every 4 days
Correcting for permanent delistings (i.e., exclude relistings), then n = 435 and λ = 0.232 games delisted / day OR 1 game every 4.3 days for Steam.
Meanwhile, for GOG:
n = 80 games delisted (including relistings)
Oldest = Wallace & Gromit - May 31, 2016 (relisted)
Newest = Shadow Man - May 17, 2021
Δt = 1812 days
λ = 0.0442 games delisted / day OR 1 game delisted every 22.7 days
Correcting for permanent delistings (i.e., exclude relistings), then for GOG:
n = 56
Oldest = Grid (2008) - Feb 2, 2017
Δt = 1565 days
λ = 0.0358 games delisted / day OR 1 game permanently delisted every 28 days
For reference, Steam has 54,058+435 = 54,493 total games published to date. So their permanent delisting rate is 435 / 54,493 = 0.8%. GOG's is 3363+56 = 3419 total games published to date with a permanent delisting rate of 56/3419 = 1.64%. So games are slightly more than twice as likely to delist on GOG compared to Steam in the context of total game catalogue, but Steam has a permanent delisting rate 6.48x than GOG's (based on when these delistings started in 2016).
Missed a 0, now looks right.

There wasn't any, AFAIK. One of their updates had a bug that made the game unplayable without galaxy. I reported it to GOG in March 2020 and in April 2020 it was fixed. That, I believe, is the reason for the DRM rumours.

kohlrak: This, precisely. We need to look at situations as they are, without necessarily just looking at one particular side with rose colored glasses.
Then why speak at all if facts are unknown? I frequently see people here do this... something happens with a game, and people run off like a freight train already certain that it's all gog's fault, or all the dev's fault, or all Sony's fault, or a local gvmt, or something else, all on zero facts whatsoever. Rumor and supposition seem to be far too common online, with people claiming "knowledge" and "certainty" on subjects where all they know is what their cousin's boyfriend's grandmother's neighbor heard someone read in an article somewhere, maybe.
I have no interest in this game, but it I do find it... disappointing... that so many people seem to equate made-up whim with verified fact.

Yet people still keep the inaccurate reviews marked as helpful in large numbers. :| (the reviews I can get not being changed as one cannot do so, but one would figure some would change their marks for such reviews when they're proven wrong/etc)

Because people are human and often let their emotions lead instead of their logic & facts.

I'm near certain that one can remove/change a mark(will go check to verify 100%, though)
