While I love classic roguelikes (Rogue, NetHack), and also games with roguelike elements (Dwarf Fortress, FTL), I haven't played any FP roguelike yet.
It seems that I'll have to buy Tower of Guns, as soon as it is fully supported by Wine. :)

Thaumaturge: On the other hand, Rogue itself had next to none of that as far as I recall: it had character levels, but they simply increased stats, with no input from the player.
That said, I feel that I should mention the term "Roguelite"; as I understand it, this covers games that use elements of Roguelikes, but don't go all the way. I believe that I've seen it applied to Rogue Legacy and Tower of Guns, for example.
amok: ToG do have static stat progression, so it fits. Receiver have none (that I could see). I do count static stat increase as character progression (your character grows stronger) That said, I feel that I should mention the term "Roguelite"; as I understand it, this covers games that use elements of Roguelikes, but don't go all the way. Fever_Discordia: But what ABOUT dungeon Hack though? You only want stuff currently available via legit DD? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Hack

I'd say yes to both. It's basically Eye of the Beholder minus the story and everything randomized (dungeon, monsters, loot, 'puzzles'), and if I'm not mistaken you only control one character (who can progress in levels and stats), not a whole party.

Fever_Discordia: Y'know, the early Elder Scrolls games must come pretty close to qualifying, I've not gotten to Daggerfall yet but I did a full playthrough of Arena and can tell you that, apart from the 17 main quest dungeons, everything in that game - side quests that the kings and queens give you, artifact retrieval quests even the town layout and what you can find when you wander around in the wilderness is completely random, and even in the 17 set dungeons the drops are random
Heh - the names of the taverns are generated from 2 lists, which sometimes works really well, giving you names like 'The Red Dragon' but some combinations are less great - I ended up visiting a pub called 'The King's Goblin'!
Oh and unlike the later Elder Scroll the view IS first person and not 3rd person too!
yeah, I have heard others calling Daggerfall and Arean FP Roguelikes also. I am a little bit on the fence, but I can see why.Heh - the names of the taverns are generated from 2 lists, which sometimes works really well, giving you names like 'The Red Dragon' but some combinations are less great - I ended up visiting a pub called 'The King's Goblin'!

This type of genre is the best! I wish there were more games like this.
Tower of Guns is a great game and it's on GOG!
I really hope GOG can get , [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/eldritch]Eldritch, and Heavy Bullets!

Yeah, I wish it had more enemies in it too. I wonder if they had to lower down that amount since everything is randomized.
