drealmer7: DOGMA is Kevin Smith's best movie! It's an excellent film! I think Clerks 2 is one of his worst (though better than Clerks, which doesn't take much.)
Curious what you think of Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, to me that is another that doesn't hold up so well.
I'll try watching it again someday then. I did enjoy it, but it didn't really leave a lasting impression on me. I'd definitely say the best part about it was how Kevin Smith protested the film himself along with a bunch of other clueless protesters :D
What makes Clerks 2 great for me is how the film builds up to that inevitable final confrontation between Dante and Randal, and especially Jeff Anderson's performance in it as he tries to fight to save a friendship which obviously means the world to him.
I want to watch Butch
Cassidy & The Sundance Kid next, but I'm waiting until a day that I find myself in the mood for it :P I'll be sure to let you know what I though of the film once I see it.
And yeah, I realize it's possible that it has aged poorly, much like another 60s film I saw a few years back :
Von Ryan's Express. I thought it had a great premise but I found it really difficult to sit through. Well, perhaps it wasn't that good back then either :P
