arxon: Can I have your stuff? Also what's with the no more classic Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale without the remakes? All classics are still available and it only makes sense for Siege of Dragonspear to require EE. Or am I missing something else?
avatar
Grargar: The classic versions of Baldur's Gate 1+2 and Icewind Dale 1 will be merged with the Enhanced Editions and you will no longer be able to purchase them separately.
But you can still download and play the original ones right?

Lin545: Don't mean and don't want to derail the thread, so I am signing off.
Hope that Klumpen0815 returns or rethinks.

Magnitus: I'm guessing he'll probably be back when he has the time, although his goodbye thread might haunt him at that point.
I doubt he'll be back. The community is getting to be less and less of a draw and his copy of windows is rather ancient. So, even buying games here is probably going to be less frequent.

I have to admit that I'm in a similar boat, most of the games I own won't run on my current computer and the community is getting less and less fun.

Elmofongo: But you can still download and play the original ones right?
Did I imply that you won't?

So the issue is the price increasing?

Well that is understandable.
And yet another respectable regular leaves... GOG really needs to step up their community management.

Your valuable contribution will be missed, Klumpen.

Hope to see if you back one day.

Seriously, this is someone's farewell thread. I don't get why you seem to want to take it over to spout off your own gripes about other forum users. Frankly, I find the attitude of some "old users" toward the rest of the forum as one of the growing problems.

This divisiveness does not help and only goes to prove how its not "just" newer users causing the problems...

Yeah, I talked with the guy and it seems his reasons for leaving were more grounded than I initially thought (not just the forums, but also regionally priced games and the need for newer Window versions to play a good many games which doesn't quite feel right for me either).

I admire his principle for strictly sticking to Linux purchases. As someone who will buy select Linux titles at full or near-full price and systematically wait for steep discount on Windows titles, he makes me feel like a lightweight.

I feel inspired. I'll have to systematically boycott some of the less promising Windows-only title in his honor ;).

And being an asshole is helpful in what sense? You're pretty much the epitome of why folks that have been here for quite a while no longer bother making the effort.

You guys have won, you drove away another one of the old-time regulars.

I have to admit that I'm not really sure why I come here any more. The quality of the community is severely lacking as of late and the last games I bought were when iD came here.

Folks like RWarehall are pretty much emblematic of why the fora are no longer particularly good.

Farewell Klumpen0815, and happy gaming!

Seriously, you are the one going around pissing everyone off. Klumpen was a friend of mine! You are such a low-life. All you seem to do these days is go around the board complaining and breeding discontent. Klumpen posts a farewell and you turn it into your personal crusade to convince everyone to turn on the people you don't like. YOU are the lack of quality in this community. But you have your head so far up your own ass, you don't realize it.

You have made 7 posts in this thread showing your contempt for a wide variety of people. No wonder folks are leaving the boards left and right with negative attitudes such as yours.

So classy you calling people assholes. You have no class!
Sad to hear u r leaving. Dun think i hv spoken to u b4 but i valued ur contributions here nonteheless. Anyway, i do hope ur absence is not permanent but if otherwise i wish u all the best. :)
Farewell and good luck into your future endeavours. Thank you for everything. And don't be a stranger. Drop by from time to time, if you can find the will and the time to post here.
Dude if talking about politics annoys you, just stay away from "General Discussion". It is not the community. I spend most of my time here in the subforums of my favourite games.
But I do like the occasional look in here to laugh about threads like Erdogan or whatever. If you cannot stomach people shredding your political opinion don't participate in such a thread, just enjoy it. It has not gotten worse in the past years and moderation would kill general discussion. I mean half the threads are already boring and pointless like "just three words", "why the person above you..." or "RIP recent dead celebrity"
Forget it, I have better things to do than argue with a troll.
