rtcvb32: I'll have to say, Fallout is much like Mario and Sonic, and Halo, and Final Fantasy, Zelda, Metroid, Cod, Quake, and most other beloved
classic IPs. I don't see any of them as so special as to love them so much.
I'm not saying it could be a bad game, it's probably pretty good, and I'm not saying wanting the game or avidly waiting is wrong. I've waited patiently for games before (
Usually for their price to drop...).
Hmmm maybe it's my fault, my naive and childlike nature was forced on the back burner too long due to finances and refusing to go into debt that it affects all of my perspective anymore...
I think it's good to have things you're passionate about, but one also has to balance it out with reason and a bit of cold logic. That's why I still have not played Witcher 3- I'm a big fan of the books, I love the first game (and like the second), so I was really hyped up about playing the last one, but when I realised I'd have to spend a lot of money to upgrade my PC, essentially to play that one game, while I have amost 50 other games on my wishlist here that I can run on what I've got I decided "you know what? I can play it next year". I'm really looking forward to the new Star Trek movie, but I no longer feel that I need to be there on the very first screening. I can wait a few days, go when it's convenient. Etc. etc.
I've learned by experience that getting carried away by hype and blind enthusiasm can often lead to self-sabotage, and make far less fun what could have been great if only tempered by a little bit of common sense.
