one of the many reasons i got a xbox. plus modding, plus bethesda's lead platform, cheaper, tomb raider, blah blah blah. this is coming from someone who hated the xbox 360. i still hate the UI though :( not as user friendly as playstation.

Both the Fallout 4 mods and Tomb Raider are timed exclusives and will be available on PS4 sometime next year. Games like Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn and Wild though won't be coming to Xbone. ;)

Crewdroog: ...my first pre-order ... did anyone else pre-order? Worried it's gonna be a buggy mess? I am.
If you're worried then why did you preordered it?
I guess you were emotional, not rational.
Ah its that magical part of the year where critics and reviewers fully loose their sense of fairness and perspective.

Its lets-ignore-shit-we've-complained-about-in-all-other-games-and-franchises-time choo, choo !

Exactly.

She thinks using VATS in FALLOUT is wrong. I think we can safely rule out "being rational" :D

Yep. >_>

Ah, well, I'll probably play it sooner or later, because running around the wasteland, killing things and doing random stuff is still fun, especially since they seem to have improved the gunplay this time around. It's not enough to pay full-price for it, though.
I'll have to say, Fallout is much like Mario and Sonic, and Halo, and Final Fantasy, Zelda, Metroid, Cod, Quake, and most other beloved classic IPs. I don't see any of them as so special as to love them so much.

I'm not saying it could be a bad game, it's probably pretty good, and I'm not saying wanting the game or avidly waiting is wrong. I've waited patiently for games before (Usually for their price to drop...).

Hmmm maybe it's my fault, my naive and childlike nature was forced on the back burner too long due to finances and refusing to go into debt that it affects all of my perspective anymore...

No, I believe you are just sane, in a world of lunatics spending vast sums of money on credit just to get the next big thing (as determined by the media). I totally agree with you, just wait a few years and you can get it for next to nothing, much like I did with the PS3 and the 100+ games I picked up recently for next to nothing.

Lifthrasil: Exactly.
Also:

Until I replace this laptop with a current, more powerful unit.
Until I handle at least a little bit of this growing backlog.
Until I play Fallout 3 and/or New Vegas (which also wait until DRM-free).
Until I finish F1 and F2.

: )

But DRM is why Fallout 4 is not even on my radar. Some day...

I just wish there were more people like us. More people refusing to play DRM'ed games would lead to a stronger DRM-free market.

I think it's good to have things you're passionate about, but one also has to balance it out with reason and a bit of cold logic. That's why I still have not played Witcher 3- I'm a big fan of the books, I love the first game (and like the second), so I was really hyped up about playing the last one, but when I realised I'd have to spend a lot of money to upgrade my PC, essentially to play that one game, while I have amost 50 other games on my wishlist here that I can run on what I've got I decided "you know what? I can play it next year". I'm really looking forward to the new Star Trek movie, but I no longer feel that I need to be there on the very first screening. I can wait a few days, go when it's convenient. Etc. etc.

I've learned by experience that getting carried away by hype and blind enthusiasm can often lead to self-sabotage, and make far less fun what could have been great if only tempered by a little bit of common sense.
