Crewdroog: b/c i love the game and i've been wanting to play it for forever. besides, this is a freaking video game, not some huge life decision, it's perfectly ok to have emotion involved in ordering. b/c not that big of a deal in the scheme of things.
So your argument is: I love the game
and have been waiting forever to play it,
therefore, it's perfectly ok to be emotional because it is not a big deal.
That seems like a counter-intuitive argument to make!

I hope no one takes this personally: I'm so not psyched or even the slightest bit interested in Fallout 4. I think that it is in Boston is lame, stupid, non-creative blah, really makes it even less interesting than it could have maybe been if only different people were in charge of its making. So yeah, really what matters is that the franchise has never had the same quality (in writing, atmosphere, gameplay, immersion, characters, overall aspects) and depth, What also matters is the developers are all about mainstream Trash content that satisfies the least common denominator. But, ya know, that just IMO! To me "T-minus" stands for "Trash-minus" the rating I would probably give Fallout 4 if I were to ever play it.
You've got to understand my perspective first of all though. It's a matter of the change that went on in the franchise when it got taken over by different peoples/company. Fallout 3 and NV are void of all the essence that was in the original Fallouts (including Tactics, I must say, even though that is a different type of game, it still captures FALLOUT to me) whereas Fallout 3, NV, and I'm most sure Fallout 4 absolutely fail at presenting me with authentic Fallout experiences OR anything near the artistic quality of the originals. They are blasphemous soul-less shallow re-bastardizations of games that I love dearly, pieces of art that should have been left in the past or turned back over to Brian Fargo long before the existing Fallout 3 was ever conceived so he could continue on with them properly (please, I'd like to live in that alternate reality!) All that is the original Fallouts is lost in the newer renditions.
But, I'm ranting to the wrong crowd for the most part here, and don't mean to poop on your happy parade, really. I just think it's important for this perspective to be voiced, as, it may be something to be discovered about them for some people and they just haven't realized it yet, you know?
I understand that for some people that 3+NV+4 work fine for them and they don't need it to be as meaningful as the other Fallouts and can enjoy them regardless. The newer ones are okay story-driven RPG/FPSs with some attitude and a great basis for it's world coming from the original Fallout games that quality-wise, pass as sell-able/playable perhaps, but, spirit-wise, put me off, to put it mildly
Anyway, yeah, I don't mean to be a downer about the excitement though. I'm glad you're excited crewdroog! A first pre-order is exciting certainly! Did you get the CE with the pipboy thingiemagigee?
I'm not sure what my first pre-order was any more. It might have been Full Throttle. But it might have been BG2. I don't remember, and will think on it and perhaps it will come to me.
*rant off*
peace all!

Eh, I have plenty of other games to keep me occupied until, as another poster hinted at, I am dead or it comes out DRM free (I'll go ahead and have my casket picked out in case it takes a little while).

Crewdroog: well, I just found the Fat Man and a third set of power armor. All these things you can get at lvl one if you explore early on. I also have found a few mini nukes. I'm kinda upset by this. Oh, you also get a minigun early. I kinda would rather have to play a lot of game before getting OP weapons :( Not a fan of this. I mean come on, THREE sets of power armor??
I did find a cute bandana for dogmeat. :)
if you want to see where i got the fat man, see my twitch feed
JDelekto: Someone told me that I could get that wonderful looking gun locked up back in Vault 111 by commanding the dog without having to be a very high level of lock picking. Is this true? I did find a cute bandana for dogmeat. :)

You realize, rant and peace in the same post are taken with a grain of salt. Hopefully when you find something you enjoy nobody rains on your parade, well, unless they end it with "rant off" and "peace all".
Most people have been for a while, well, metaphorically speaking. :)

some say bugs, others say features, yet others say exploits. Was the headless horseman a bug in literature? Before you say it was the written word, I could say I saw the headless one with my own two eyes.http://www.gog.com/forum/general/bug_in_witcher_3_hearts_of_stone?
