Crewdroog: b/c i love the game and i've been wanting to play it for forever. besides, this is a freaking video game, not some huge life decision, it's perfectly ok to have emotion involved in ordering. b/c not that big of a deal in the scheme of things.
So your argument is: I love the game
and have been waiting forever to play it,
therefore, it's perfectly ok to be emotional because it is not a big deal.
That seems like a counter-intuitive argument to make!

Eh, I have plenty of other games to keep me occupied until, as another poster hinted at, I am dead or it comes out DRM free (I'll go ahead and have my casket picked out in case it takes a little while).

Crewdroog: well, I just found the Fat Man and a third set of power armor. All these things you can get at lvl one if you explore early on. I also have found a few mini nukes. I'm kinda upset by this. Oh, you also get a minigun early. I kinda would rather have to play a lot of game before getting OP weapons :( Not a fan of this. I mean come on, THREE sets of power armor??
I did find a cute bandana for dogmeat. :)

Crewdroog: REALLY?!?!? I am just biting at the bit to get at thaat puppy. looks like it might be a freeze gun or something? I will totally try this out when I play later tonight :) thanks! Either the joke's on me or the dog can do it, we'll see.

Welp, after around 12 hours in, I've made up my mind.
This is a GREAT Rage game. What it isn't, is a Fallout game. Seriously, everything about it reminds me of Rage, which is awesome, because I liked Rage, glitching/mega textures and all. This is that, painted up in nice looking Fallout colors, with a bunch of other functionalities that scratch my hoarder's itch. (I've spent waaaaay too much time hunting down things like telephones and desk fans for components.) >.>
The gameplay itself feels very fluid, like Rage did, and I'm pretty sure I recognized some of the animation patterns from that game in this one. It's bright. (Almost too bright in some cases. I had to shut off Godrays because it was starting to get annoying.) The gunplay feels a lot like Rage's, which means fairly slick and rewarding. They've taken a few pages out of Borderlands' book, by throwing in the occasional Legendary mutant/animal/creature/enemy, which are tough, spongier versions that give better loot.
The power armor play is pretty decent, but I sort of disliked how early they hand it over to you. (I always felt that nice set of T-45a/b was supposed to be more of an endgame reward for your badassery.) Aside from that, though, it's been fairly irrelevant in my questing thus far.
Game world is typical Bethesda. Very fun to explore and get lost in, then find things tucked out of the way that you don't expect. (Example: I stumbled into a subway station into some kind of multilevel all out fire fight between Institute Synths and raiders. That was pretty awesome.) It also seems that Bethesda has learned to stop leaving large portions of their worlds feeling empty, as there's all kinds of things I've found and I've only discovered a portion of the map.
So, let's talk some downsides. Whoever thought the dialogue wheel was a great idea needs a good old fashioned ass whippin'. Seriously. That thing is one of the most unintuitive and unimmersive additions ever, and hopefully enough people tell them to knock it off that they go back to actually writing some dialogue.
Performance is pretty jittery and I'm running between ultra and high. You won't notice stuttering or performance hits until you start hitting bigger cities, then it becomes a massive pain. Lexington was especially noticeable and was enough that I went back and adjusted some options down from ultra to high. There's also some occasional self-correcting glitches and on the bright side, I have yet to find any quest breaking bugs.
The iconic radio stations? Trash. I'll be honest, Diamond City Radio has some funny moments, but they recycled a LOT of the songs, which I felt was simply lazy. There are a few new songs thrown in, but you're gonna hear a majority of the same tracks from 3. (This may not matter much to most people.)
So, to sum it all up? I agree with the "great shooter, terrible Fallout game" crowd. It really isn't even a Fallout game. It feels like iD made a top notch shooter and Bethesda slapped some Fallout trappings on it and decided to call it 4.
...now I'm going to go play it some more. :P
