I laugh my ass off at people who seem to think it's all coming from me and a small minion of my bots, evidently overlooking the fact that virtually everything I post gets low rated too. XD

A few days ago someone actually suggested that I was using my "army of bots" to low rate my own posts in order to divert suspicion from myself.

DetouR6734: Giving your name will generally state your gender, which is best being kept private, it's surprising how far your name could go if someone is intent on finding out more about you.

Most people i know on the web don't even know my name, instead just using my username. It's always preferable, and it stops one from getting too personal.

I have met some folks i have known only through the internet, though i had known them for years prior.

GameRager: 1. Tbh I couldn't care less if someone knew my name/gender(first name). It could be false for all they know, and without a location to match it to it'd be hard to pinpoint who I was specifically and where I was(with just that info).

Also my name is very common so there might be several people with my first name in the same area.

And like i said, you'd be surprised how far it can go if someone is intent.

GameRager: They'd need other info to tie it to me, though, and likely some skill to track me somehow(technical/detective skills/etc). As such, I am ok with giving out such and other basic info(to a point) to trusted people/in limited arenas.

DetouR6734: One thing leads to another and yes there are people capable of that all over the world and on the internet it's the world you're facing.

Don't be naive, it's blatently obvious people are capable of it, however whether they would want to waste their time on you is the question, and thatnkfully the majority of them wouldn't as they have better things to do.

tinyE: One more serious question that's always begged me every time I get accused of this crap.

Why would a 43 year old cancer survivor who has turned his life around and now lives and extremely fulling existence dedicate himself to creating bots so that he can effect a meaningless number in a meaningless virtually unheard of gaming forum? :P

I could see myself doing it if I was a little kid or something, or someone who had just hit rock bottom and felt bitter and pissed off at the rest of the world; someone who in some way felt cheated or victimized, and thus felt the need to strike out at people and society, however silly the form of that strike might be, but that's obviously not the case here. Oh, it might have been 25/30 years ago, but not now. Now, I wake up every day amazed I'm alive and beyond grateful for it. I have absolutely nothing to prove to anyone, and no reason to think I do. If I ever did wake up feeling that way I have the people around me, this place around me, and the ever present scar from my chest port to shake me, bring me back to the here and now, and remind me what really does matter.

In criminal terms, I simply don't fit the profile.

GameRager: 1. One could also ask why you bother posting all the silly comments/pics to derail/joke around in various threads you dislike or just taken interest in every day.

clarry: One person's silly is someone else's funny, is it not? And having a bit of fun is what some of us need. The goal is not to derail; I think the fun things are more fun if you can share and show others.

It's just that we don't all share the same sense of humor. That's okay. So if there is a joke I don't like, it is easy enough to ignore it and move on.

GameRager: 1. If it's a few one off comments and obviously not meant to poke fun at the topic/user who started it then that;s fine, but if people do crude/rude replies/posts over and over to obv. provoke the thread starter or derail the thread then I find issue with that.
