(Tanea "charmed" the rats in turn 2. At the beginning of turn 7 or the end of turn 6 they will turn feral again. We could just leave them behind, but we are soooooo slow. There is still a nightmare left and now we are stuck at doors. Tanea will be heartbroken if we have to kill them. :-( I'm afraid I'm probably not creative enough to figure out a way out of this mess.)
(Do you know, if one of your "Detect Secrets" included the rats? I know, I'm grasping at straws here. :-/ )

Tanea, Halfling Shaman (female)
Suddenly everything is out of place. No, _I_ am out of place, or rather out of my mind. There is an Ice Elemental watching over Shins as I return to the rats, climb onto one's back and go riding down behind the backs of those two nightmares, who are about to try their hardest to finally achieve their goal and end Siegfrieds life, thwacking them with my staff as we (the rat and I) pass them by in the desperate hope to distract them long enough for Roosevelt and Siegfried to figure out a course of action. And it works! Only one nightmare remains.
Now the rats and I are back where our story began. But this time my heart isn't scared, not in that sense, but heavy. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I'm about to cry again, but just squish that useless notion when Roosevelt shouts to me that Siegfried was hurt. I look for him and sure enough, he lays slumped to the floor at the side of a wall. The crashing sound I heard must have been his armour or shield hitting the wall. Did his head hit it too? I look at the rats. What have I done? I wanted to save them from Cruel. And I wanted to save Siegfried. _I_ wanted to. Did they? They were lucky the nightmares didn't do Cruel's work for him. Yes, I wanted to get them out of Cruel's reach. But ... I used them just the same. I've never been so lost in my life. ... And this coldness just doesn't seem to want to leave my bones. "You are all going to die here" just keeps repeating in my head "and I will be the one to kill you". No, I won't. No! I won't! My heart is still heavy as I come to a decision. Well, as much as one can decide in a place like this.

58 - FlockeSchnee - Tanea - Halfling Shaman
Tanea hurriedly says goodbye to every single rat while looking into it's eyes and then reminds them about what she had told them about the traps and fleeing, if needed. She tells them to be careful and sends them into the main chamber, fearing for the worst and hoping for the best, mumbling to herself in reassurance "They must know this place, they can make it out, if they want to."
Then Tanea goes to Siegfried and casts Heal on him (twice if necessary and possible).
