gogtrial34987: I inform my fellow party members of what I've heard (but make a point of it to speak very softly about the "shinies", so Rudy doesn't hear), so we can hastily discuss if the potential for shinies are worth a fight, or if we should head onward, away from the main chamber. *looks around at his fellow party members* "Well, what say you?"
Beldarion hesitates for a moment: "An orc party upon some treasure? If they are looting something, they shall be easily taken off-guard. Do you want to sneak in, use some spell or shall we just blast through the door in a surprise attack? We should be quick, get the treasure and move on"
He takes position a few steps away from the door, ready to bash it if needed.

"Ah, much better my dear Beldarion! We'll overwhelm these orcs in an ambush, which just happens to be the specialty of not one, but two of your fellow party members!" *grins wickedly and begins to regale a tale of one of his most successful ambushes back during the troubles.*

I'll cast Summon Spider to help take care of those fiends.

Roark, Elven Druid
Yes, we get to fight!

What formation are we in, by the way?

I assumed DD (the Dwarven Dream Team) are mostly in the position they mentioned in the main thread, so there's about 3+3 or so around the doors where Max is checking them and I'm next to the left door. So there are about four of us at least near the zombies and skeletons (and wraiths, potentially).

Svartalf, Thulgrun, Babargh and others, can you please confirm where you're standing if you didn't press on ahead, so we can get ready for the inevitable fight?

Doc, do you have a layout in your head who's were and closest to what? Where is Max right now?

Since the wraiths are out, how close are they to me and the folks next to the right door with zombies? Could you try describing who's where? Did Cervello move back, as in back from the door in my direction (on a map to the left), or rather "north", (on a map down), so he's more far away from the trapdoor? How's in my "row" right now, if this was drawn on a grid map?

In either case, I probably try to fall back one row (still having my sword and shield drawn), so that I'm in line with the other fighters who should be there (so I can't be flanked, or have only the front and one side exposed), ready to face whatever comes with my silver lined sword, so that I'm not swarmed by both the wraiths and incoming force from the door. If something approaches, I attack it. In case the only people in my "row" are Cervello and Aslan.

Is there still time for us to move to block the door (as in, be in front of it, so whoever comes out is attacked by us, and by standing in the door, they are blocking the path for the other skeletons), and only let one enemy pass through it at a time? Or perhaps the Gnoll could do that? If yes, I try to help with that. However not being swarmed by wraiths takes priority, so I position myself so that I'm not being attacked on two or more sides at once.

I have my shield ready and I move away from the Wraiths so that I can't be attacked by both the Wraiths and zombies at the same time, falling in line with the other fighters who should be in the row behind me (Svartalf and others should be right there) so that I'm not flanked, and attack the incoming horde with my silver-lined sword that's effective against Undead. If it's possible to block or slow down how many skeletons come through the door, while not being exposed to the Wraiths (being on the other side of the door), I move next to the other adventurersand the Gnoll and try to help with that, so that I don't have more than the front and potentially a side exposed - attacking one and blocking the other with my shield. And in either case, I try to keep distance from Cervello, so that I'm not affected by the -2 penalty.

I yell, "Block the door so only one can come through it at a time! If anyone has Turn Undead, feel free to use it now!"

Also, one of me, Kip or Aslain should explicitly check the final door while we prepare the ambush. If there's more enemies behind that door, we run the risk of a fight attracting their attention.

I'm also still fine with foregoing shinies in favour of getting further away from the main chamber as swiftly as possible. If we go that route, I propose that we take whichever tunnel isn't being taken by Rudy.

"My friends, you are cautious and witty, and you know your job well, but I'm a man of action. Besides, I believe the current situation requires quick thinking and even quicker acting (glances back to the northern end of the tunnel for a moment). So, I've made up my mind: I'm going to count up to ten and then blast through that door. You can either come with me or you can wish me luck."

Beldarion smiles in anticipation, unsheathes his bastard sword Waihyra, and counts up to ten (in order to give time to any of his companions who may want to come in his aid). Inmediately after, he bashes the door and attacks (tries to take them by surprise) whoever is behind it.
1... 2...
69 - Rudy - Human Ranger : Moves to the corridor ahead and checks with his high perception for enemies, traps or any loot. If he spots an enemy he will summon his bear to fight at his side. If not he will move to check what is behind the door carefully without alerting any enemies that might be there.

triock can turn undead at his position, or call for aid if he wishes to save it, but I'm presuming he has 2x turn as I do.

I'll approach Cervello's position, shield raised, and move into range to cast (1x) Turn Undead, while remaining the 2' clear of Cervello himself.

While the monsters types aren't fearsome, 12 is a significant number and a Turn may help dispatch them quickly.

From our party, I'd say that at least I (Svartalf), Thulgrun and Kyp are past the trapdoor. Kyp was checking the door on the right while us 2 agreed to move past the trapdoor.

SmartyFartBlart is assisting Cervello, while keeping a safe distance from him.

Max son of Fulvus and Babargh still have yet to react to the evolving situation.

As for my action:

As I notice the suddenly encroaching Undead some individuals carelessly released, I focus on the Wights since they might be resistant to conventional cold steel weapons. Others can hopefully deal with mere Zombies and Skeletons but Wights are much more dangerous. I also have the element of surprise since I am with a few others past the trap-door and the Wights don't seem to have noticed us yet. So IF IT IS POSSIBLE WITHOUT FRIENDLY FIRE!!! (Don't know the exact parameters of it) I cast my Fireball spell on the ground between the 3 Wights that emerged from the central trap-door as fast as possible before they are able to disperse so that the spell hits them all at once.

22 - Kip - Halfling Brigand - Southern Tunnels - side tunnel

Kip is unsure of the wisdom of Beldarion's plan, but he is willing to help out for the sake of unity. He readies his magical sling and urges Beldarion to allow Kip to lob a fireball through the door as soon as it's opened, before Beldarion enters.

gogtrial34987: @Kip: how's your supply of traps? Anything particularly useful against Orcs? I have a weakness trap that could be useful, but might be worth hanging on to it for something tougher than orcs, particularly since we have the advantage here.
I've got two snare traps and one acid trap. I agree that we shouldn't waste them on the orcs.

"I believe the secret door could provide for a quicker way out... and I could go for some shinies..."

I hide in the shadows to sneak attack orcs at the first opportunity and ready both of my fire damage short swords.

"Anyone going to open that? Hehe"
I am with you, we could open the door. Depending on the ork numbers I could use wand or one of the offensive spells.
"I doubt this plan will be as effective as the one I outlined, but since you appear set in your ways, I will assist. After all, with the element of surprise, a running ambush is still an ambush, and I am no stranger to such!" Og'rialt will follow Beldarion at least a few feet into the room or corridor behind the door, and will use the full reach of his spiked chain to try and trip up the first enemy within reach which isn't being attacked directly by Beldarion. If it makes sense tactically, I will attempt to make that enemy stumble into another one. and then after that I will swing the chain around in a general effort to do as much damage as possible while keeping enemies away from my immediate vicinity.
Great. Centipede behind us, Wights in front of us.

I position myself behind the closest Wight and cast Lightning Bolt on him.
With a smirk on his face, Riarwirn in one hand and a shield in second, Triock Ulagolor attacks the left wight with all his strength.
