** TURN 7 **

24 - Elven Necromancer - Halfling Druid overcoming her initial despair Elven regales a story about a great sinner from her past, her uncle Dodley.

She suggests three possible rewards for those who have disappointed their captor.
1 - Spirit them out of your dungeon, never to be seen again, forever to enjoy the freedom they surely seek. You feel an aura of anger and menace in the air around before you even finish the sentence.

2 - Spirit them to your court, where you and your pets could further their education into the many forms of sin, I am sure.
There is an audible sigh of exasperation, are you sealing your own fate?

3 - Free them of that nasty two-legged humanoid form of theirs and grant them instead a most welcome supernatural shape, perhaps one that best represents their favourite sin, such as transforming a slothful adventurer into a giant snail, or a lustful one into a wererabbit.
You hold your breath for what feels like an eternity, waiting for a response. Eventually it comes.
"This last suggestion of yours... intrigues me."

You glance at the tunnels either side where you see many different eyes of all shapes and sizes watching you.

"You know which way you must go little fly. Come sit by my side and we can decide the fate of those who have angered me together.
Then, maybe, you will be free to go."
24 - Elven Necromancer - Halfling Druid

For a while, a short while or a long while, Elven bit and rebit her lower lip. Then she spoke.

"Alas, Elven Necromancer collaborates with no one. Not good, not evil, not chaotic, not lawful. She walks her own path, or she doesn't walk at all."

With that, she turned to Stoneybridge. Standing on her tiptoes, she hugged the elemental's waist, then released him from her spell. Silently she moved to the opening of the left side tunnel, clenched her fists by her thighs, tightly shut her eyes, and began walking down the tunnel to a certain death.
That's a... sad turn of events :/
That ... doesn't bode well? We will see ...

Did you dismiss your elemental so that you can go through the tunnel without alerting anything to your presence? Or due to other reasons?

Technically you could always fly back up the main chamber, since your spell is still active, right? (I've noticed you omitted the spell info from your post this time, was that intentional or and/or are you quitting the game?).

I acted as I believe my character would have acted under the circumstances.
** TURN 8 **

24 - Elven Necromancer - Halfling Druid after waiting what feels like an eternity, Elven speaks "Alas, Elven Necromancer collaborates with no one. Not good, not evil, not chaotic, not lawful. She walks her own path, or she doesn't walk at all."

She hugs her Elemental before releasing him back to his own plane.

Eyes shut tight, body shaking, she moves to the side tunnel on the left and starts walking down it.

As she walks into the tunnel she can feel the presence of many creatures around her. Hot breath assails her from all sides, drool lands on her head from above.

Trembling she keeps walking until after what must be hours have passed she can feel nothing around her apart from a cool breeze. The ground starts to crunch wetly beneath her feet as she tries to gather the courage to open her eyes again.
24 - Elven Necromancer - Halfling Druid

Elven slowly opens her right eye. If nothing pokes her in the eye, she also opens her left eye.

I mean, no matter what happens from here you've totally won the game. ;)

Oh, there are quite some nice moves on the other tunnels too.

But, more seriously: "Are humans underachievers? Discuss, compare and contrast."

"Half Orc - Strong, Low Intelligence, Ugly | Halfling - Small, Sneaky, Dexterous
Human - Varies | Dwarf - Strong, Magic Resistant
Elf - Intelligent, Dexterous | Drow - Evil, Intelligent, Dexterous
Goblin - Sneaky, Evil"

Perhaps we are good at lots of things but not great at anything in said variability?

The average achievements per race is 20/7, and some variance is expected. Statistically, humans also skew towards melee more than the population overall (looks like 9 of 16).

Edit - Well, that's not entirely right. I was rushing a bit for RL interruption. For one, I didn't weight the average for population size.

I'm only showing 5 goblins for some reason, but my tally is 1 off overall too - but aside from that:

Race (% Brigand/Berserker/Warrior/Thief/Paladin)
Goblin**: 60%
Human: 56%
Halfling: 56%
Dwarf: 53%
_____________
Half-orc: 37%
Elf: 37%
Drow: 20%

Average anticipated achievements by population weight vs. actual:
Human: 4.0 : 0
Elf: 4.0 : 4
Dwarf: 3.75 : 4
Drow: 2.5 : 3
Hling: 2.25 : 5
HO: 2.0 : 2
Goblin (using N=6): 1.5 : 2

So most races are where they should be, but halflings skew high, and humans not so much.

Could just be random variance, but maybe our selection of human indicates a more conservative approach to the game which correlates with conservative in-game choices?

Variance (delta actual - expected achievements by class weighted by pop size):

Paladin -2
Berserker -1.75
Thief -1
Cleric -1
Brigand -0.75
Ranger -0.5
Necro -0.25
