I blink. It's like waking up from a dream, that doesn't want to let you go yet.
Where am I? How did I get here? Last I remember, I was walking down a mossy path in the deep woods. It wasn't easy, saying farewell to family and friends and venture out into the unknown. Looking for ... something. Especially on my own. For the first time in my not-so-short life all alone. I thought I had never been more frightened the last few days. I was wrong. Now I was frightened. Get a grip. Panic will do you no good. Focus, watch, learn. Yes. I look around.
Are those Drows? Every Hafling knows bad luck follows you, as long as you are too close to them. Who are all these people? Heavily armed and those who aren't, with deadly spells at their disposal, I just know. Are they going to war? Against whom? What am I doing here? I'm no warrior.

I slowly slip over to the column between the North and West Tunnel. What is this smaller tunnel for? Isn't the large one enough? Is it a trap? Which one, the large one or the smaller one? I don't know what to do.
I turn my attention back to those in this chamber. There is a Human by the West Tunnel, reaching for a torch, too high for me to get to, so easy for him. Another Human observing him, like I am. That one looks confused. Probably like I did before the fear gripped me. The first Human invites to join him. Is it a trick? To gain what? I don't know. I know nothing about war. He has a sword, not a wooden staff. Paladin, I'm guessing. Probably knows some powerful spells, too. And the Warrior knows how to fight. What do I bring? Yes, I can heal a little, but a Paladin can do more. Near where he stands, there are two Drows. Near me is just one. Are two worse bad luck than one? I don't know.
Listening to the sounds from the metal grates direction getting louder, whatever it is is coming closer. I'm no fighter. I can't get out of here, wherever/whatever here is, alone.
I slowy make my way over to the Human Paladin. Does his invitation extend to someone like me? I will soon find out.

Tanea, Halfling Shaman

BenKii: Good sir, I would very much like to join you and pledge my sword and honor to the party.
Am I allowed to join? I know only defensive spells and one other (if I live long enough for it to present itself ;-) Probably a ton of traps down here and I lack the ability to uncover those), that isn't offensive in itself.

Edit: A lot of text, means a lot of spelling errors. Hope I got them all now.

Aramandur: I won't allow you to venture into unknown, northern tunnel without a protection from the Order. You have my sword.

- Danric the Exiled
Hm, giving your sword to someone else might not be the best idea here.

Your protection is appreciated and we will work together to survive this labyrinth, good sir Danric. Who others among you wish to join us?

- Stephareth, Human Necromancer
Yea, though we be here in this cavern for unknown purposes, and my many companions also be unknown to me (seriously, who are y'all?), I, SmartyFartBlart the Paladin will raise my shield as a bulwark against whatever lurks in the dark..

I stand forth to guard against incursion through the south tunnel entrance while others gather information from the chests. I focus for sounds of undead or anything else approaching. I would beseech any rogues at hand to examine the tunnel entrances for traps before we proceed and our mission and tactical assessment become clearer.

I also curse my parents for naming me thus. In their defense, they were quite drunk at the time.

Doc0075: Let me know if I have missed anyone or placed someone twice.
I see several duplicates or these persons have an evil clone of themselves :O. Namely:

Squee - North and South Tunnel
Raybur Wolfsktaa - North and East Tunnel
Svartalf - South and West Tunnel
Gilius - South and West Tunnel
Zazz - East and West Tunnel
Misery - East and West Tunnel

Will wait for this to be sorted out before doing anything as I am one of the cloned ones :P

My trusty shield is enough to protect the world from the creatures of Evil. A sword is but a tool. My faith is a weapon.
Fognino the Goblin Shaman looked at entire group with attention from his starting position; noticing the adventurers were already moving towards the chests, he tought it would have been pointless to waste efforts in trying to secure some treasure this early. In the best case scenario, somebody could find traps for him, and with a bit of luck (and bad luck for somebody else) he could offer his healing services in exchange for a part of the findings.
Goblins have to be cautious inthese hard times hwere everyone looks down on them and uses them as expendable cannon fodder. Deciding to remain concealed but as close to the bulk of the adventurers as possible was the wisest first step into the unknown.
Sometimes, inaction has its own advantages over rushed decisions.
Loradan wondered how he ended up in that place.
He was on the battlefield one moment ago.. when did he enter that abandoned temple?
And this crowd.. a mix of all races, all bewildered like him. What happened?

His thoughts were rapidly interrupted by the worried murmuring of the people standing nearby the gate in the center.
Something dangerous was coming.. no, all the situation was very dangerous.. better get away from that place, fast!

He saw an human paladin [Siegfried] leading the way towards the [West] tunnel on his rigth, followed by another human warrior [BenKii].
Could they be allies? Elves and humans had been in good relations since ages, after all.
He decided to follow them too.. after casting a few protective spells just for precaution.

Squee thinks some mage must have cast mirror image on him. I sneak into the shadows and begin scanning the north tunnel for traps and secret doors.

bler144: I, SmartyFartBlart the Paladin ...
So, that's what Doc would come up with. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to find out. :-)
I hope we`ll meet Gnomes, Ghouls and Trolls, I need ingredients to cook a tasty Bru-Mil.

I for one say Tanea would make an excellent addition to our party. But of course as long as it is alright with our party leader, Siegfried.

Welcome aboard Loradan. I see you are a mage. Those spells will most surely come in handy.

Loradan was relieved by the friendly attitude of the humans.
He introduced himself and joined the party.
With the halfling shaman that arrived together with him, now they were 4.. two magic users and two warriors.
Not a bad start!

Korotan: I will ask if anyone want to team up with myself to bring light in this dark godless tunnels.
What class are you? I could join you. Meanwhile, I'll check out these chests. The wooden ones of course.
