You mean while you were installing the game? The banners within the installers aren't pulled from servers, they're added when the installers were created.

What I mean to say is: It's probably an old ad. I've got the Atomic Edition here, but it's been since delisted from GOG's store.
Yeah unless it said World Tour I'd assume it's an old ad.

Perhaps.... Maybe cause how old Mortal Kombat is its listing banner ad's from last time it was here; at the same time that doesn't entirely make sense. It was also advertising newer games and it did have a download button but maybe their just using an old server algorithm? If I see it again I'll either try get a screen capture if I can or try the download button just to see what happens...

Did gog censor the version of Duke Nukem that was here when they sold it or is that something more recent. What I mean is is it like Duke 64?

Duke Nukem 3D Atomic was never censored, it included the Plutonium Pak expansion which was an additional set of levels that were originally sold separately.

The only place online where you can still buy Atomic Edition is Zoom. [Modded, please don't post links to other stores, as per our CoC. Thanks!]

ZOOM Platform not Zoom.
Zoom is a video chat program and site.

I originally said Zoom Platform, but the mod edited my post.
Who even owns Duke Nukem now, anyway? Is it still with Gearbox or did Randy take it with him?

Still with Gearbox who is owned by Embracer group. Embracer is the same group that owns THQ Nordic however they tend to be hands off so the studios can decide what they want done with there games.

That's... good, I guess? I mean, if the people who created an IP can't own it, then handing it around isn't the worst thing as long as it's not locked up. Is the reason it's not on GOG anymore due to some licensing agreement with its new platform? I know one can purchase something like Manhattan Project on Xbox if one finds that to be the lesser evil.

Gearbox got the IP from 3D Realms along with DNF, and when the distribution contracts, Gearbox had it taken down across all platforms and replaced with World Tour everywhere but GOG. Zoom Platform can still sell the Atomic Edition because they have a perpetual license to sell it, granted by 3D Realms, that supersedes Gearbox's ownership of the game and IP.

This. We can be grateful to Zoom Platform that Duke Nukem 3D is available DRM-free anywhere.
