Hey everyone, I think the topic subject says it all :) Just a little more info.
When BOI:Rebirth came out I instantly bought it because I loved the original one (despite its flaws, being made in Flash and all...). This game has it all, different game each time (random dungeons BUT with pre-designed room layouts), huge amount of weapons/items/powerups/abilities to unlock, great variation in enemies & bosses, and... it's so addictive! So, after I decided to uninstall it (because I was getting too addicted to it - and I also spent LOTS of hours in it) I needed another game that could grab my interest in the same manner.
So I bought Nuclear Throne, by reading the reviews I guessed that it was going to be a more weapon-focused Isaac. To tell you the truth, I was a bit disappointed, it felt too... hard & unfair (Isaac is hard & unfair sometimes, but I never felt like quitting). I don't mind simplistic visuals (OK, Isaac was nicely polished), but I no more have the patience to play a game which kills me every now and then without giving me motive to retry (something which Isaac does hellish-ly good; pun intended).
So, my good friends, can anyone recommend any similar DRM-Free games with such replay value? I got my eye on Enter the Gungeon, but I'm hesitant due to my experience with Nuclear Throne (based on reviews). Also, I've got a recommentation myself (the only nice alternative I have found so far): A Wizard's Lizard. It's very nice, challenging, not as expansive as Isaac, but it has its own cool mechanics & it's DRM-Free. (Whew, long post - sorry about that!)
