Near the beginning of Dreamfall, when Brian Westhouse materialised in Dreamtime, a mysterious creature (the un-dreaming) from the sky soon attacked him. This creature looks similar to the gigantic organic computer (Eingana) in the laboratory beneath WATI City. Did WATI send this creature to attack Brian Westhouse to alter his mind, and now he is working as an agent for WATI?

We will never know......
*SPOILERS*

I think the un-dreaming possessed him and used him to hunt out the dragons (making him the one who murdered the white dragon.) That's one popular theory anyway.... Of course it could've jumped to crow instead.

Emachine9643: We will never know......
There will be many mysteries left unsolved - we will probably need an extra book to fill everything in. One of the mysteries that will be resolved I’m sure is what happened to the White Lady, the truth may be revealed in book four. My theory is that Brian Westhouse tried to kill the White Lady, but was stopped by Crow in the nick of time - Crow may have scratched his eyes out!

Is this a really good game? I might pick it up if it has a really engaging story...

As far as games are concerned, "Dreamfall" and "Dreamfall Chapters" as well as the first game, "The Longest Journey", are the best story video games ever made; no other video games come any where near close. I cannot seem to find any video games out there that can match the superb quality of "Dreamfall", "Dreamfall Chapters" and "TLJ", and I have been looking extensively.

If you like the best graphics and a superb storyline in a video game, then as far as I'm concerned, the above will be the only games you are ever likely to find this in. Ragnar Tørnquist, the writer of "Dreamfall" etc. is a very talented writer, along with the professional first class voice acting for the characters in these games; all this produces a sense of realism that you will soon discover for yourself.

Who or what is the Undreaming and how or who created the Undreaming and for what purpose?

We are told that the cosmos is created out of people’s dreams and if the Undreaming gets its way, it will stop everyone’s dreams, resulting in the end of the cosmos. But then surly this will result also in the extinction in its own existence! Nothing gains.

Faith seems to know about the Undreaming, she drew a picture of it amongst other drawings on the wall in her experimental bedroom.

Just re-finished playing Dreamfall (second game) again while waiting for book five to be released. Towards the end of the game when Zoë meets Faith for the last time, Faith said to Zoë, "You saved April". I do not understand how Zoë saved April in any shape or form; as we know, April got killed, so how is this saving April?

Personally I've already played through the game, but please consider putting spoiler tags in the title next time, or at least put one in the OP, in order not to spoil parts of the story for people who haven't played the game yet and are just curious what this thread is about. It's also a very specific topic that would be better suited for the series' subforum.

You might enjoy it, if you're fine with a "story before gameplay" approach. I didn't have a problem with the gameplay at all (it's mostly running around, talking to people, with the odd and very rare fighting or sneaking sequence strewn in, and extremely simple puzzles), but quite a lot of people who liked "The Longest Journey" (a classical 2D point-and-click adventure), tend to complain about the simplified gameplay and lack of challenging puzzles. As for the story, I found it very gripping at first and I was ready to declare Dreamfall one of my favorite games because I had such fun playing it, but sadly it starts going downhill about halfway through, IMO; the story loses focus, gets more confusing and less interesting, and finally ends with a cliffhanger. I haven't played Dreamfall Chapters yet (waiting for the final episode to be released before I start), so I can't say if the third game manages to smooth that out and wrap it all up nicely.

Oh right, I should play the first one. Still need to install a virtual machine for it as it crashes after the opening cutscene. :l
Support told me Windows 7 wasn't supported for the game.

That's too bad. :( I played parts of "The Longest Journey" on a Win 7 Starter netbook and IIRC it worked fine, but apparantly I just got lucky then. I had more trouble under Win 8, despite GOG officially supporting that OS ...

That's a strange one.

You did not answer the question though; do you know why Faith said to Zoe, "You saved April"? Clearly, April was not saved!

It's been so long that I don't remember any details, sorry. Besides, as I said, the second half of the game made little sense to me in general ...

And keep in mind I didn't play Dreamfalls: Chapters yet; of which I was hoping that it would answer some questions. You telling me that you're still searching for the answers despite playing Chapters is kind of a spoiler too. ;)
